Hi, I've been trolling around the reviews for a bit, looking for a first time purchase.

So I'd figured to ask for a recommendation.

I'm personally thinking the DSE103 or Gamucci Micro. I prefer the look of an authentic cigarette over anything. I'm not an addicted cigarette smoker so I am not looking to kick any habits. I do smoke cloves (Djarums) and Sobraines as far as real cigarettes go, if this helps.

So with that said, I'm looking for any suggestions based on that.

Thanks!

Also, has there been any thought to compiling a sticky message with perhaps the top choices? it would really help for noobs like myself when discovering the site.

Since you are from "Philthydelphia" USA, it's best to get one right here in the USA. If you're like me, you wanted it YESTERDAY. :D

I recommend these two:

myecig.com
e-cig-sales.com

Check out both of the sites, and email them with your questions about the products...I do all the time. I ask questions and they give me the real deal.

Then, keep reading here for tips, tricks, etc.

Hi BB and welcome to the forum.

Karen has given you excellent advise about who to buy from, both sellers come highly reccommended.

The ultimate choice of which style of device is up to you, but here are the generally accepted norms.

The penstyle has a larger overall size, with that also comes longer battery and cartridge life. They are the standard size owned and used by most people here.

The mini's, DSE901's, and the super mini's are much smaller in size and have for the most part shorter battery life and do have much shorter cartridge life.

I have penstyles and DSE901's and use both on a regular basis, my DSE901's produce more visible vapour than my pens but both deliver a good hit. So either of them from the suppliers you've been given will be an excellent choice.

My usual advice would be 'go out and get laid'!

Back on topic, though, Karen and MNZ have covered the bases for what you need. All I'd add is a mini (DSE901) or supermini (RN4081) will help you blend in socially, while a standard, or penstyle (RN4072) lasts longer battery-wise and contains more e-liquid in the carts. Best to start out with the sellers Karen suggested. As you become familiar with the devices you may wish to try one of the leading brands.

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your purchases.

My advice is if you're not already addicted, don't start.

Nicotine is addictive regardless of the delivery method. If you are indeed not an addicted smoker, an e-cig is the last thing you need or want. It WILL get you addicted.

Of course you're right Leaford - to an extent. It's best not to smoke at all but some people smoke occasionally for social reasons or whatever. I have a friend who likes smoking socially but isn't addicted, she likes different tastes like shisa pipes etc. She had a go with my ecig and wanted one so I advised her to get a DSE901 and zero nicotine cartridges. She gets the flavour and smoking satisfaction without the nicotine and is very satisfied with her device. Now she wants me to show her how to make her own flavoured juice to try out, again zero nicotine.

If a person doesn't smoke, and takes up e-smoking for whatever reason, that will play right into the hands of those who will oppose this. They will argue that e-smoking is a new high-tech starting point for a lifelong addiction -- not a harmless alternative for cigarette smokers, as we prefer it to be thought.

As Leaford points out, e-smoking is addictive if nicotine is contained in the cartridges. I can't believe even a hardcore cigarette smoker thinks another generation of young smokers hooked on nicotine is desirable. It is not.

If you don't presently use nicotine, don't start. You'll only regret it in years to come.

Surely, smoking -- even vapor -- isn't "cool" anymore. Few of us would dance this dance if we weren't addicted to a filthy habit/addiction. The manfacturers are being truthful when they say this is NOT for anyone under 18 or anyone not presently using tobacco products.

Keep your virginity.

You should get the job of writing the government health warnings on cig and ecig packs TBob ;)

I agree that it's not cool, however, some people do take recreational drugs, cigs being one of them. Surely it's better to vape zero nicotine flavourings than inhale cig smoke, just from a damage limitation point of view. People will use these things socially whether we like it or not, at least it doesn't have to be addictive and (as) harmful.

Hi again,

Thanks for the feedback and site recommends. Am looking into them.

As far as my personal thing with smoking goes, I am a very light smoker, at 35, I've not got the addiction nor will I. But I do enjoy it regardless. This is why I smoke oddball brands. Then there's the cigars...

But in general respect to these products being a gateway-drug into the real thing, I can absolutely see that, not only with the nicotine cartridges, but purely out of curiosity for what the real thing brings, etc.

In any case, these are apparently still relatively unheard of here in the states. I called around to some local smoke shops and none of them heard of them.

Thanks for all your replies. Now back to my martini. :D

I'm not convinced of that. Quite a few of us who've switched to ecigs have since become relatively unable to smoke real ciggies. Moving from a tasty, pleasant nicotine device to a stinking and wretchingly unpleasant nicotine device isn't the direction a person would generally go.

I totally agree mate, I couldn't smoke a cigarette at the moment - I just don't feel like I'd like it as much. E-smoking gives you more of a light pleasant feeling, when I think of smoking cigs my lungs feel tight.

I am totally with you Spider - even the thought of having a real cigarette makes me nauseous - I never thought that would happen, but so glad it did - LOL
