Howdy, smoked 22 years, been quit 8 (cold turkey) and lately...could be stress, could be weakness, could be this midlife crisis thing, but holy moly I keep having dreams that I'm smoking clove cigarettes like the 15 year old punk I was back in the day. Djarum specials, so sweet I wake up with the taste on my lips.

Well I do not want to start smoking again, and I sure as heck don't want to start smoking clove cigarettes again in my mid 40's, so I figure I had better do a little research on these e-cig/vape things...seriously ignorant, and empty vessel looking for any and all info you pioneers can provide. As I'm sure many before me have discovered, there are more choices, information and gobs of conflicting advertisers all clamoring for my business.

Not going to lie, I'd rather not start down the path of nicotine addiction again, and I'm looking to resist temptation...but having a viable "plan B" never hurts. Any suggestions for a n00b, looking for an authentic clove cigarette alternative? Lord knows I want to mug some poor goth kid at a mall, and run off smoking like a diesel train, but just not.cool on many levels.
I appreciate your time!

There are so many choices out there.... I'd suggest what worked for me in terms of hardware, I'd say a protank 2, 3 , aerotank, Nautilus, plus a battery or mod, you might want to get one of the kits many vendors put together.
When it comes to clover flavor, I never tried it, but you can Google ejuice clover flavor and you'll get many results like this....

Welcome, and I hope you find something that works for you, anything but going back to stinkies :)

First thing is WELCOME! I don't want to be the one to give you advice that may be a catalyst for pointing you in the direction of nicotine consumption. I do know what it is like to be quit for 8 years and still have those smoking dreams and desires. Stress finally pushed me over the edge and I picked up smoking again. But I quickly discovered e-cigs and knew without a doubt tat they were the best alternative to getting myself some nicotine. However, as you said you do not want to go down the nicotine rabbit hole again. There are plenty of zero nicotine liquids available from numerous vendors. And clove is a popular flavor. I wish you the best of luck.
I highly highly encourage you to keep researching and asking questions. This is a very big decision you are making. Get as much true info as you can.

One would think after so many years smoke free a person would be over the hump, but I know better I quit cold turkey in my early 20s and didn't touch a smoke for over 7 years... then one very stressful morning I bummed a smoke off of a friend and by that night I had smoked a pack and was hooked again. Wish there had been e-cigs back then. Good luck to you.

Welcome to ECF. My daughter and I were in the same boat. We had successfully quit smoking about 7-8 years ago. The desire to smoke, however, never really went away. About 2 years ago, the stress was getting to both of us, and we were on the verge of starting again. My daughter had heard about ecigarettes, so we looked online, did some research, waited to see if we could wait out the cravings, and then took the plunge. We started with a couple of Blu disposables to see if the ecigs would really help curb the desire to smoke. They really do. Went on to purchase Blu starter kits for each of us, but got tired of the hit and miss quality of their prefilled cartos, as well as the expense. Found a different cigalike setup and started refilling our own cartos. We just recently graduated to Kanger Evod setups and Protank 2 minis. We are enjoying every minute of this journey, and very proud that we are still ex-smokers. The great thing about vaping is how customizable everything is. We are happy with the relatively simple setups we have. Regarding clove ejuice, my daughter has some from Mt. Baker Vapor, and I think she said it is pretty good (we both smoked cloves as well as regular cigarettes). Good luck. If you decide to pursue vaping, I hope you are as happy with it as we are.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, and all the great suggestions!
I picked up a Kangertech evod/protank3 combo from a local e-cig shop, and have ordered the clove juice suggested, while using the shops custom mix, with a no nic & 6mg nic options.

The wife and kids are definitely turning a jaundiced eye at my starting to "smoke again", but I know the difference, and really appreciate everyone's help.
