First and foremost...

Hi forum, my name Is seepigrun will be 30 in February. From Illinois Been vaping a little over a year (former smoker). Been lurking in the forum for sometime.

So what brings me here today? Well... I come to you, ECF, out of desperation. Last weekend I had my whole vape kit stolen. For those of you out there who have experienced this... I'm truely sorry.
For those of you who haven't. It feels losing a good friend. My goto setup ipv4 with a delta ii tank... Gone on a flash. Looked awesome, it was worn in (what I liked refer to it as 'battle damage').

Kit also included:
Atlantis tank
Spare coils for both tanks
4 18650s

Also recently acquired:
Velocity RDA and.the necessary coil building accessories (coil building is new to me but was loving it)

All wrapped in my Maxpedition case.

Sob story aside... I went out and to fill the void the theif left within with the SMOK Xcube2. This was advertised as having some location festures... Thought it may prove to behelpful should the unthinkable happen again. For the life of me, I'm unable to get the location setting to function..

Scoured he web looking for vapers with the same issue however my search turned up no information. SMOK has been unresponsive on their support email support and Facebook messages. The user manual doesn't cover it either.

I've watched the reviews on the mod and its definitely there but its most certainly unavailable to me. Running the app on a Motorola Nexus 6 Android 5.1.1. Upgraded the cubes firmware to the latest and greatest. Also tried it on the iPhone. GPS is on and enabled in the Android settings for this app.

Sorry for the lengthy message. Not only is this a plea for help but also somewhat of a therapy session.

If anyone could help me out with this I'd be truly grateful.

Thanks and look forward to meeting you guys

I'm sure someone will come along with the same problem and a fix.. Seems like a very capable and knowledgeable community of vapors here.

It was such a bad weekend all together the stolen vape was only the beginning... To make matters worse, I was attending a work related function/party when it was lifted. The home owner, my co-worker, denies that any of his guests would have picked it up but I know that's just simply not the case. In the last photo my wife and I took together before we left my Ipv4 was visible... Clear as day. Went upstairs to say my goodbyes then began walking to my car before I'd realized I'd forgotten my stuff. Went back down and just like magic.... Gone.

Welcome aboard. I am afraid I don't have any answers on the X-cube. I don't have one and didn't even know they did location. I sympathize with your loss. My woman has my Plume Veil and I can't get it back for love or money. And then I have this ex-wife who took off with my Browning Sweet 16 that I would go get from her if she wasn't such a good shot... :)

Thanks! You all seem like a good bunch! Basically my understanding is you make an account with SMOK and bind the MOD to the account. If it were to become lost or stolen once someone connects it to bluetooth it would show you where "you're" vaping on map.

Hey @Seepigrun! Welcome to the forums.

I'm really sorry to hear that you had your kit stolen. That is absolutely terrible.

Thanks for the warm welcome! It was strange how depressed I was that day. I think because vaping, that mod in particular, has done so much for me (quit smoking but use of vape only) it was seriously (may sound pathetic) losing a pal.

Well that just totally sucks. I don't have that mod, but there was a contest here a while back in which quite a few folks won one, so surely someone will be along to lend their experience and hopefully expertise.

Don't blame ya for wanting to effectively "lo-jack" your mod; I'd probably just chain it to my arm. :D

Welcome to ECF!

Smart BEC - Android Apps on Google Play

From what I'm seeing, it's supposed to be free.

Unless, of course, you're using a Crapple, errrrrr, Apple device. All bets are off in that case. :D

After looking at what this app does, you aren't going to get a real time GPS location going with this thing. Apparently it just records the general locations where you've used the device. And it's only going to work if the bluetooth module is activated.

Android only here!

You can bind the device to an account so my theory is should the device ever get swiped and they booted up the app with the bound device it would show on my end. Only a theory though. Real-time would be great but I knew that was never the case.

My researched continued well into the night and believe I've found the fix for this for anyone else experiencing the same issue. Will share once I confirm!
