Hi everyone, my first post on here because I need some help.
Bought a new kit called the Forza VT60. I'm from the UK. It goes up to 75w, and basically it's giving me a burnt taste, which is really bad. I have got it on 8w right now and that's just bearable. If I start putting it higher it just burns my throat and hurts pretty bad.

So basically there are different modes in the kit. I thinks one is called bypass and a temperature control mode. I just have it on the normal power mode and the info on the screen, are as follows.

8.0W
2.42V
Coil- 0.73- I thinks that's the ohms

I apologise for not knowing much about these kits, probably why it's not working correctly.

The liquid I'm using is 1.8% nicotine 50/50 iced orange.

So if anyone can help at all with a quickish response that would be great.

Also if any needs any more information from me about this. Please ask.

@The Vape Hit Hello and welcome to the forums. For starters, I would suggest that your coil is too low resistance for the juice you are using. Typically, most people use higher nic with higher (above 1 ohm) coils. I would suggest that you use 0.6% or 6 mg juice with that coil. I use 24mg or 2.4% with my 1.5 ohm coils and then I use 6mg or 0.6% with my .8 ohm coils and lower. The lower the resistance the more efficient it is at atomizing the juice which means you need lower nic content to get same as higher ohm with higher nic. Hope this makes sense. Other things needed to be known is did you prime the coil before firing it in the mod? (drip juice in the side holes and a few drops in the center of coil) Other info also that would help is how long have you been vaping, did you smoke, how long did you smoke if you did and how much.

Hey Ablonz, appreciate the quick response. So basically the guy at the shop did the priming for me, because he set it all up for me and put the liquid in. But I was in a rush so I had someone else go into the shop to pick it up for me while I was in the car, as I was feeling sick. So I didn't smoke until I got home, which was around 15-20mins. Was just left in the bag.

As for vaping before, I had an innokin cool fire IV. I didn't have any problems with it. The taste was nice and got a nice hit from it. it just ended up breaking, the top part came off about a week ago. So I decided to get this new one.
Also I'm not a smoker, random occasions, yes. But not a smoker.

As for the ohms bit you explained, thanks for that by the way. So would you say that probably is the problem?
And is there any way I can get a decent taste from the iced orange and a decent nicotine hit from the 18mg liquid with the current ohms-0.78 ?

Also would you recommend trying anything to maybe fix the issue?

Thanks

@Bonskibon Ok, but the high nicotine levels for me doesn't cause any problems. On my old innokin cool fire and another previous to that, I sometimes had 30mg but usually 24mg or 18mg. And didn't have any problems with burning. And they went up to 40w. And I usually had it on 25w.
I didn't think that was your problem with your gear, just an observation in your post. If someone didn't smoke I would recommend no nicotine, but your fine with it so it's all good. :)

Some Los grade nicotine has a peppery flavor.

Did you Prime tge coil head?

Once the wick is burned it tastes awful till you change tge coil and clean the tank

What is the VG PG ratio. High of ratios give a harsh throat hit.

I usually use 70% VG 30% PG.

There is a lot to talk about here.

Firstly, it's very disappointing you walked into a shop and bought this and now things aren't working out. You paid good money and although the mod itself is usually fine enough, the rest is rather variable.

Secondly, what tank does it have? Not all the tanks these nice people might sell you are actually ideal. Some are good, some are less good and there is a wide variety of atomizer heads (coils) not all of which work as they should.

Thirdly, if you start to raise the watts on an 18mg e-liquid, things will get a bit harsh.. that's for sure.

We can help you out, but I really hope it was cheap. This mod was upgraded (the chip) 11 months ago and this kit had some problems. But these shops just keep selling and selling, because that is all they know what to do. You've been let down.

@djsvapour Yep I've realized I've probably been taken advantage of, as I paid almost £50 for it with liquid, and it only came with a USB cable in the box.

I have checked and it's a resolve tank, and that tank should not have come with the one I bought.

Well, it's a £40 mod (£35-£40) regardless so that's not so bad.
The "Resolve" tank is basically a colourful Eleaf GS type tank (one of the Eleaf products we can't actually buy out of the Joyetech/Eleaf network incidentally).
Now we get to the truth... it comes with those 0.75 pure cotton coils and they are not always able to keep up with the wicking.

The 1.2ohm coils work perfectly well

The TC coils do not work so effectively - you have a TC mod with a tank that could take a TC coil but they don't work.

What I can say, for sure, is that I've been using that Mod (OK, so it's called Evic VTC mini 75w) with the 1.2 ohm GS coils since the day the upgraded 75w version came on sale... which is a year, give or take.

Now the really bad news in the cost of those coils. I see them on sale for £5.49 for 2.
I buy them for less than that for a 5-pack (from China).

I just looked on Amazon and the general price for Eleaf GS pure cotton coils seems to be about £10-£11 for a 5-pack. That is miserable... urgh... "depressing"

Using today's exchange rate, they are £5.30 from China for a 5 pack. I buy them 30 at a time (6 packs) and hope to have 100 by May 2017 just in case.

100 bought in the UK. £275
100 bought from a Chinese online shop. £106.
