Hi, I'm relatively new to e-cigarettes but have just invested in my first expensive other than a couple of small ego pens.

I am an ex-smoker and am more interested in a good mouth to lung setup rather than sub ohm direct to lung vaping. (I hope I am using the right terminology here, but if not, I hope you understand what I mean).

I'm hoping to get some good information on e-juice and how to mix my own and if there is a better setup (mod) available for my needs or how to adapt my mod to suit my needs.

Hi @platypusgravy and welcome to the forum. The Aspire Nautilus Mini tank is one of the most recommended for mouth to lung vapers. You can also get something like the Kanger Subtank Mini tank and replace the drip tip (mouthpiece) with a more narrow 510 sized one ($2). I've replaced the drip tip on every subtank I own and then cut the airflow back to half and continue to mouth to lung vape.

There is a huge DIY section of the forum, and a search box in the upper right of every page. I use these sites often looking for recipes :
"e-liquid-recipes" <--google for the website
Le DIY pour les Nuls - Recettes DIY - Trucs et Astuces. French site in English, search upper right, translate lower left.

I enjoy a medium low power MTL (mouth to lung) and recommend both

Aspire mini Nautilus (the BVC 'heads')

and the

Eleaf GS Tank (the air/pure cotton heads).

Put them on any box mod you like the look of. I would go replaceable battery myself.
Basically, unless you buy an unusual box mod, it will power as low as anybody could wish to vape.

There's is no problem with buying an over-specified mod. Some of the best ones on sale can do extreme power, but are ideal for anybody, even beginners. :)

I purchased a Smoktech Nano One, but was told to replace the standard 0.3 ohm atomiser with a 1.5 ohm atomiser as they are better for mouth to lung. I was also told to keep the power lower (30-40W). Seems ok but I have only been using it for a couple of days.
Good for you! :)

Yes... 0.3ohms is kind of low for many of us.

I don't vape often at 30w-40w, in fact, is it possible to inhale MTL at 30w? :D

Seems to work, what wattage would you recommend?
I find anything over about 18w too 'fast' (lots of vapor, quick) and can only inhale for 2 seconds, which is kind of frustrating.
In theory, with the right airflow, almost anything is possible, but if it's working, it's working. :)

This is what the recommendations were from their seller. (From the website).
  • High resistance dual coil head smoktech TF-T2 for smok tfv4 tank and smoktech tfv4 mini use.
  • TF T2 resistance is 1.5ohm, recommend work at 20w to 45w
So I picked 30W. I did have to adjust the breath holes on the tank quite a bit to restrict the airflow. Last night I reduced it to 20W and was possibly better but I'm not sure. I will have to experiment more.
