This is my first post. I am a beginner I guess, as I have only vaped Ego 1 and the eleaf Ijust2 until recently when I purchased an Eleaf Istick Pico 75W.

This has so many options and I CANNOT optimize this mod to get the best vaping experience!
I have read so many great reviews and heard good things, but I cannot vape above 30 watts without getting a burn taste.

Any pro's out there know how to best optimize this mod? My goal is to vape at around 50-60 watts and get good flavor and a nice cloud, that is all. Thank you and I am excited to be on this forum.

My primary goal is flavor, secondary cloud and it doesn't have to be anything dramatic. I was told I can easily vape at 50-60 watts with great flavor and cloud. I am in 'Smart mode' now with many other options being a TC Mod. I am using .3ohm eleaf coils and have a melo 3 tank, 4 ml I believe.
I am vaping air bender juice at 3mg. Battery is charged, please help! lol.

Welcome, Chris! Have you tried any other mode at all yet? I don't have my Pico in front of me, but isn't Smart Mode the same as in Bypass? I could be wrong, but...see, that's how I tried it at first, so this is why I ask. I wasn't able to produce any more vapor than what I'd do on my Nautilus w/ a 1.8 regular coil so I switched over to VW, and oh, boy, did that change things up nicely! I started at 30W, but I like a cooler vape so down, down, down I went to 15W (using a 1.0 coil). Still getting nice vapor production, even with a 1.8 coil in my Nautilus . I hope this helps, and if it doesn't, hopefully a veteran pops in soon with more useful info.

Thank you Glinda! Since I am using an Kanthal coil, I cannot use TC at all. So I am now using smart mode and it appears that I am getting a nice flavor and cloud at 50 watts. I just ordered the KBox 200 Mod, so I will learn quickly how to get that guy going nicely for me at around 90 Watts. I guess I will have to settle with my 50 watts on this pico because I am using .3 coils. and my batteries are at 20 cointinuous discharge. I have better batteries coming with my KBox mod. Anything I am missing here?
Thank you again.

I'm with Glinda here; to my mind lower power does seem to offer more flavour as does +1 ohm; again imho a narrower attie also seems to help with flavour.

The old rule of starting with the power down and gradually increasing it until you hit your personal "sweet spot" is still a good way to go.

Purely on flavour grounds of all my atties the best to me is my full size Nautilus however, with a 1.8 coil running at a miserly 8 watts; this produces about the same amount of vapour as my pipe did smoke with the air full open. For flavour then comes my full size Triton 2 and my Nautilus Minis as well as my GS Airs which are all about the same.

This game does need a bit of experimentation til you get to just where you want to be...

....I believe others have touched on what I would ask. I'll do a quick run down on the general "gist" of ecigs.

higher wattage is for lower ohm coils. lower ohm coils are warmer, cool down slower, produce more clouds, need bigger airflow and use more juice.
lower wattage is for higher ohm coils, vape cooler, less clouds, cool down quicker, produce less clouds, and need less airflow and use less juice.

Flavor... depends on juice. Some vape better at higher heat, others vape better at lower.. this is all a personal choice.

Dry hits... Simply, it has to do with your atomizer coils. Since higher ohm coils use less juice, they don't wick as fast to prevent flooding. If you run a coil at a higher wattage than what it was designed for, then you will get dry hits. Some coils can take a very high wattage like the Smok TFV4 tri coils... you can run those at 60W all day and not get a dry hit. Other coils, like the Kanger Subtank are designed for around 25 watts.

That is why most of us get into rebuildables... it allows us to setup our own coils, dictate our own juice flow within the capabilities of the atomizer. We don't rely on prebuilt coils. My sweet spot is two .8-1 ohm coils (.4 to .5 ohms) I build it with enough cotton to keep up with that demand. I do not know of any prebuilt coils that offer that range.

My suggestion would be to go out to a brick and mortar store and see if they have different atomizers for you to try. For smokers, I recommend a higher ohm coil at lower wattage and higher nicotine strength... that offers good flavor, decent throat hit, less coughing, and less clouds... later, finding a tank/setup is all based on personal wants. If you want heavy clouds, most pre-built coils don't offer the flavor that building your own provides. try to find one you like. A smok TFV4 produces heavy clouds, but personally I like the taste of a mid-subohm coil I built myself.

Thanks a bunch Neal, I learned a lot, very helpful. So having said what you have, as well as me being a beginner (Pico 1st Mod Box), I hope you endorse the Kanger KBOX 200W TC Box Mod with the Uwell Rafale Sub-Ohm Tank, the Uwell Rafale Tank Parallel Replacement Coils (4-Pack) 0.2ohm, and finally, AWT IMR 40AMP
3000mAh 18650 Batteries.

Like I said, my goal with this mod is to get a really nice flavor and a decent to above average cloud at around 75-125Watts. This will begin my education process, learning more about vaping. Do I move into the RDA zone or do I stick with the pre-built higher Watt Mods. That will come with time.

So Neal, did I do ok? : /

Thanks again Neal! BTW, I have some premium max VG juice as well as juice from Mount Baker. I look forward to your response!
