New to the forum so thought I should say hi. I live in the UK and work as a nurse in general practice, after smoking for 30 year my problem was I enjoyed it as well as being hooked to the nicotine but knew I should stop especially with my job. Then found the ecigs, I don't know why anyone smokes any more, love it and already feel better. Started vaping in January and got to admit don't understand a lot of the tech talk, well any of it really. Use a kangar tank 510 at mo with various batteries. My fav battery I just got, it's a kangar tech 1. Love it and like the way I can turn it up and down but it only lasts a little while, about 5 hours, is this normal? Also my coils only seem to last about 3days and everyone else's seem to last longer, what am I doing wrong or do I need a new set up.

Hello Darlianna and welcome to the forum.

Sounds like you have some version of a variable voltage eGo battery. The length of time a battery should last per charge can be determined by the "mAh" rating. Generally 1 hour use is equal to 100 mAh. So, a 650 mAh battery should last approximately 6.5 hours use.

Thanks to ecigs, I am 3 years smokefree this month! I progressed from the "cigalikes" (cigarette size batteries), skipped the eGo battery intermediate stage that you're using, and moved up to "mods", or advanced personal vaporizers (APV). Never feel pressured into advancing up the vaping ladder until you feel you need to to stay off of the smokes. For many of us, vaping also becomes a hobby and we become enthusiasts always in search for better gear.

I've written a blog which may help you as a relatively new beginner in understanding this new vast world of vaping.

Hello and welcome to the forum darlianna. Glad to have you here!:)

If you could give us a link to the battery you have we could check it out and let you know if 5 hours is reasonable. You will have to separate the link with spaces as you don't yet have 5 posts

Or, do you know how many mAh (Milliamp Hours) the battery is?

Here are some links to get you started on the forum.

1. New Members - "How many posts do I need to..."
2. How to do ECF - Avitar / Post Pictures / Signature
3. How to Add Images / Videos
4. Setting and Profile Features

Welcome Darlianna. :)

It's just great to see you here. Huge congratulations on quitting the cigarettes.

I'm not sure I know your battery; I know of Kanger, of course, but not Kanger 1.

If your tank uses replaceable atomizer heads, then 3 days is a little disappointing, but not by a lot. I averaged 4-5 days using Kanger replacements. They can get a little leaky and I did suffer from dry-hits now and again.

I used them for 18 months (guess) and must have over 50 cleaned and 'gutted' in my vape box, should I ever need to rebuild them.
These days, I prefer Mini Nautilus (2 weeks on those heads) and Kanger Subtank (about a week) but the subtank is for higher powered vaping.

Should you ever need to know anything about prices, I have OCD for remembering how much things should costs and which companies are good and bad about offering good value or the opposite (rip-off) which there are plenty in the UK... so be careful where you shop. :)

Welcome to ECF darlianna. I hope you are able to keep us abreast of changes to the local vaping landscape in light of pending EU regulations. I follow several activists from your area on Twitter and they seem rather alarmed.

Yes. Vaping as we know it is in real danger.

If the UK government decides to interpret the EU TPD in certain ways, that will be the end of 99% of products by 2016.
