First of all I like to say a big thank you to all who contribute to this forum so....... THANK YOU.

I have been avidly reading for about a week and picked up tons of useful info  .

I have today rec'd my first E-cig. A generic penstyle (RN4072) fom a UK supplier and at a good price.

So far I'm very impressed. Working fine with lots of vapour.

Taste is unusual and hard to describe: slightly sweet and burnt but in no way unpleasant.
Nothing like a cig or roll-up but I can get used to it.

Inhaling does give a similar feel with a slight bite at the back of the throat but much
smoother and no tendency to cough.

Now the really good news: I haven't smoked a single roll-up today (would normally have had at least 9 or 10 by now!) or any type of cig for that matter and haven't felt the slightest need to do so and I'm still on my first battery and cart!

I am ( or hopefully "was" ) a heavy smoker. Roll ups at home, normal cigs when out. I thought I would have to wean myself onto E-smoking and fight the urge for a proper "..." or "gasper". Ok so it is only my first day but this seems to satisfy my need for nic plus the physical habit of smoking which I think is equally as strong.

If I can keep this up the benefits will be enormous: no tar, no carcinogens, no carbon monoxide,
no stinking clothes, no yellow stained fingers and no cough. .....'kin brilliant!

I am so excited about this E-smoking I just wanted to share this with you all. I now feel that a Janty Classic Kissbox is not very far over the horizon :D .

Warmest regards to all

Welcome,

Glad you got great results with your first e-cig. I have to agree with Leaford, I had a failure rate with the first few e-cigs I bought and was about to give up, but then I found the njoy, then the Janty Classic, now the KISSBOX Classic. It seems the e-cigs are getting better, just slow getting there. :D

When I bought my first e-cig I was hoping that this was my way to reduce my smoking, never thought that I could easily switch from real cigs to e-cigs without any problems, but I did. I have been cigarette free for almost 6 months now and feel so much better.

Again, welcome, and keep up posted on how you are doing.

Nice to see that you like it here Trip; ánd that your search has resulted in an e-cigarette that is doing what it's supposed to: keeping you off the tobacco!
Seems you belong to the 'lucky' group: those that are so happy with their e-cig that they can instantly let go of áll tobacco. Happened that way to me too (and was a real heavy smoker); and indeed, that change-overnight is quite exciting to experience; and makes one happy e-smoker! :D

make sure u have some spare parts.. or make sure u carry some rolling kit as a back up.. one kit (cig) isnt enough for reliable long term use..

I second that. Last night I found myself with no ecigs working properly out of 3. If you prefer to stay off the ciggies, consider using some other nicotine replacement as a backup - there are quite a few options these days.

Hi everyone

Thanks for the welcome.

I thought I'd post an update. Now on day 4 and on my 10th cart. and still haven't had even a single puff of a cig.
I never thought I'd take to this E-smoking so quickly  .

My consuption of carts seems to be increasing as I get used to this, maybe just quicker to change when it starts to die.
I think it will even out to about 4-5 a day  . What is everyone else using with a Pen style?

Trog, I have taken your advice and got a spare atomiser.

My generic Pen style from "Smokester" is still working fine lots vapour and consistent until the cartridge starts to run out.
I change batteries frequently during the day. I keep one on charge and as soon as the green light comes on I change to that and put the partially used one on charge and keep that cycle going. It means I'm never running a battey right down unless I go out for any length of time but I have a car charging lead on order to fix that as well.

I have decided to stay with the Pen styles for now as I am fine with the size (not worried about looking like a ponce with a cigarette holder  ). It is tempting to try lots of different types of E-cig but the cost can mount quickly as you need to keep "spares" and different types of cartridge. Cartridges seem to be all the same price and you get more liquid in a pen style!

I have ordered a couple of cases from Monkey Bazaar (so I can pretend I've got a Janty  ), some E-liquid and because I already had to pay standard shipping I have also ordered a new "Pen style" kit in blue . This was only 35 Euros so a good price. They have a good range of colours and although coloured replacement atomisers and batts are more expensive - what the heck. I am hoping all the parts are interchaneable so I can have white battery and blue atomizer or blue battery and white atomiser etc. with more combinations in time as my collection grows.

I would like to say a big thank you to "Smokester" at e-cigs.co.uk. His servivce has been exemplary, his prices are good and I particularly like the free postage which usually arrives next day. He is starting to stock flavoured carts and E-liquid which you can find at his site also he has posted details in the "Suppliers section" on here. He is a big plus for us UK E-smokers.
I have pre-ordered some E-liquid and a "Medley" cart pack from him to try all the different flavours. My plan (when I settle on what flavour I like) is to have carts and E-liquid of the same flavour and then put a few drops of liquid into a cart when it starts to run out and keep this going until it gets a bit manky and then start a new cart. Not sure if this will be cheaper in the long run because E-liquid seems quite expensive.

Sorry I have rambled on a bit but I'm really excited about E-smoking and feel I may have finally given up the "weed".

Regards

Trip

get a big ten ml syringe from somewhere.. pull out the wet wool from several new carts.. the syringe will hold a few.. use the syringe to top up the other carts dont use new ones.. your cig will smoke better u dont have to drag the dregs out of each cart and there is no wastage..

a small ear drop type bottle makes a good dripper to top up with.. or u can just direct drip three drops straight into the atomizer.. three drips is good for half an hour of nice heavy smoke..

ultimately order some e pipe carts from e-cig china and squeeze them out for your liquid.. 4 or 5 carts per day is gonna work out expensive..

yep i am an expert at meaning mean.. one tip.. the best way to get the wet wool out of the cart.. take a thin screwdriver.. poke down the side of the wool so far.. kinda twist and lever upwards and grab the wool between thumb and screwdriver and dump straight into the open syringe.. poke down into syringe with screwdiver.. do several at once..

tweezers dont work as well..
