Welcome to the ECF, Tavish. This is a link to the UK sub-forum on the ECF. You should be able to find whatever you want to know there. I don't think that you will be able to post in there though, until you reach 5 posts.

I'm surprised that Chrissie hasn't found you yet. She is very knowledgeable about e-cigs and UK vendors.

Challange accepted

Without knowing what you have already, I'd say to check out liberty flights

If you have a smaller sized ecig you'd want something with a decent battery life. We can tell how long a battery will run by using its mAh rating. It's around 100 - 120 mah an hour of use.

A riva or ego starts at 650 mah so you will get a decent battery life. The main difference is the riva is unregulated from 4.2v to 3.2v and the ego is regulated to a flat 3.2v.

Liberty flights also have the epower which is meant to be pretty decent. There's a few good reviews on here somewhere about it. It's like an ego or riva but you replace just the inside battery yourself so it's cheaper to maintain.

They also just got the SD keyring recently which is one of the smallest, more powerful ecigs out there.

The best deal on an ego right now is here: Electronic Cigarettes - Items - FreedomVape (UK)

You wont find it cheaper than this normally, and now it's 15% off again so you wont find it cheaper than this.

Also from freedomvape on the same page is the lavatube. Currently it's considered the best budget mod out there. Put it this way, you can get the same basic function out of the very best ecig worth £200 out of the lavatube. I own a lavatube and it's pretty awesome for the price, and I have not found it cheaper in the Uk than freedomvape has it right now.

That £200 mod is the provari: ProVape which is expensive but considered the best ecig right now. Yours if you can afford it but it's out of my price range for sure.

If you want something cigarette shaped and size, check out these guys: http://www.ivapour-elixir.co.uk/creator-1.html?cat=121 or http://www.jacvapour.com/ they are THE best cig sized ecigs you can get the in uk right now.

What else to buy, well, without knowing what setup you have I can't really say what parts to buy but I would recommend a CE2: XL Ultimate Clearomizers - Detailed item view - FreedomVape (UK) these are the same as the "vision" from gotvapes. The latest in the line of CE2s until we get the ?starburst? over here which I don't think will happen too soon.

If you have any problems using a CE2 let me know. I use them daily and have for months with thick liquids no problem. Just takes a very quick modification to work.

Also in the cartomiser line I'd say try out the 2.0ohm boge cartomisers from liberty flights. They'll knock your socks off for throat hit and heat.

I'd give freedomvape's juices a shot. They offer a pick and mix for £12; 5 5ml juices to try out. Best way to check out different juices. Their Ry4, ry4 and caramel, caramel, perique black and mint chocolate chip are pretty good to me but taste is subjective.

There's so many mods and vendors, this is like the shortlist of what I go to, or what the majority use in the uk (save for totallywicked because it's really expensive there). Once I know what you have or what you're looking for I can really tailor a response with what you're after instead of just what mostly gets bought lol

Thanks for that link... been looking for a list such as that. Am new to ecigs so not really sure what type I am looking for. Was a 30+ per day smoker for over 25 years.

I am using a 2 part ecig from VIP (24m). I dont have anything to compare it with so dont know if its one of the better ones available. I find it a bit hit and miss as to weather I get a hit or not and I am not that keen on the taste. I want something with plenty of smoke and a nice minty taste.

1000 mah ego battery and a 2ohm boge carto will do you proud. Cloud 9 Vaping sell menthol for 9.99 a bottle and its nice and minty :D

Ok, thanks for that :D is it these guys: Electronic Cigarette Standard Starter Kit - E Cigarette - Electric Cigarette Kit

I would strongly advise investing in a new ecig. Those are like the windows 95 of ecigs compared to what we have now. Parts are hard to come by for them without costing a lot. At least they didn't overcharge you for those, they were actually reasonably priced.

So really, what it comes down to for ecigs is form factor vs lastability.

If you want one to be like a cigarette, the ivapour or jacvapour carry what's called a Kr808d-1 model ecig which as I said is the strongest small ecig on the market right now. You can pick up some menthol prefilled cartomisers from there to try out with them too. You'll find these ecigs to be a lot more constistant.

But, if you're anything like me you'll need something with some lastability. I would say to pick up the ego/riva from freedomvape because it's dirt cheap for what it is. It's going to be pretty long and metal looking so it is form vs how long it lasts.

That's just the batteries though. What you put on them is what is really important. For the Kr808D-1 ones, you just need to stick to 2.5ohm cartomisers. You can buy blank ones and put your own liquid into them for a lot cheaper than it would be to buy prefilled ones from the vendors.

For an ego/riva you have more options. They are 510 threaded and you can use a cartomiser (I'd recommend a 2.0ohm 510 cartomiser from liberty flights) or an atomiser which is what will come with the kit from freedomvape. You have a ton more options but that must be the simplest one to go for then you can consider what else you want to use with it.

That's what I'd go for unless I wanted to go straight to the big dogs of ecigs, in which case I'd buy the lavatube while it's 15% off at freedomvape. The ability to change voltage which in turn affects the heat of the vapour is fantastic but the lavatube is some hefty size so it's again a question of form vs function.

If you don't think form factor is a problem, invest in the lavatube and say hi to what vaping is meant to be, get some 3ohm or 2.5ohm cartomisers from liberty flights to stick on it and it'll work out pretty nicely.

What I do is I have the cig lookalike ones for when I'm outside and I vape on the lavatube at home because it's so big and doesn't look like a cig so it's a pain in public and I have an ego for a backup, like when I need to charge my lavatube batteries.

I don't think you'd get recommendations for much else than those three. It really does come down to personal choice but those have to be the workhorses of the ecig world that most tend to use.

It's up to you really but that's the main rundown of ecigs and where to get 'em here in the UK. If you need more help let us know yeah? :D

Hi there another brit here did your change go smoothly? With my experience I had 2 to 3 days of cravings before I finally got used to my e-cig.

Hi
I had intended to try and fully give up smoking. I went to Dr's and got nicotine patches and inhalers. Tried these and was still going nuts for a ciggy. Got myself the vip ecig and that really helped with the craving. I have managed to cut out the patches 'n' puffer for a few days now but want to puff on my ecig more. Dont think I'm fully converted yet:blink:

From what I've read on these forums it is not uncommon for someone to vape more than they smoked when they're first starting out. I find myself taking one or two big draws every 5-10 minutes instead of heading outside for an analog every half hour. How long it will take for the cravings to leave is different from person to person, but every time you vape instead of lighting up a cigarette is another win for you. Happy vapeing!

^ an FAQ for ecigs that should help you out if you browse it over.

1000mah means the battery would last about 10 hours. 2ohm is the resistance of the cartomiser you'd use with the battery, generally 2.5ohm is nice and warm, 3ohm is cool and 2.0ohm is hot. A boge carto means it's the cartomiser you put on the battery. It's like the two piece you use now. Boge make some of the best cartomiers, you can get them from liberty-flights.co.uk

It is hard getting used to everything so I'm sorry if it's like total info overload right now haha

The eGo Tank should work great for you. The 2 std. 650 mAh batteries would need to be charged at least once a day each, estimate 3 charges/day. 900 mAh batteries, 2 charges a day. 24 mg. nic. juice min. should do it.

I switched near effortlessly w/ the eGo & did not try to quit. Reduced cigs. to 0 in a few weeks! No need to stop in a day- we did not start smoking 20+ the first day!
