Just a heads up on ego tank aka ego T ecigs...

The batteries are great, but the atomisers are notorious for not working properly. They have a high tendancy to leak or not get enough juice into the atomiser so they taste burnt. It has to be one of the most common threads on ECF, of people asking how to fix their ego-T so it actually works like it's meant to.

With that said though, they can work really well if you use the correct thickness of juice with it and aren't above fidding with it if it needs it. I used the ego tank for about three months before I got fed up of it but I did use thick juices to be fair.

Not to say ego T's are terrible so don't get them and SirVette is wrong, it's just that it's a real trend to see people saying theirs didn't work too well.

A belated hello & welcome to Tavish & Dogsofwar :D

Excellent advice from Lefteild :) Tavish, if you are smoking 30 a day then the VIP really isn't going to cut it for you. For starters, you are going to have to keep recharging the batteries ever couple of hours. The Riva at Freedomvape that Leftfield linked to, really is a fantastic deal with the 15% off using code JAN15. You also get a free 10ml bottle of juice with it plus free P&P -

Hi Chrissie

I am tempted to go for the Riva. Is it easy to use/fill ? Bit worried coz it looks a lil complicated compared to my VIP:unsure:
So pleased I came across this forum and must admit I am amazed and gob smacked at all the products that are available.

Yes it's really easy to use/fill :) You just attach the atomiser to the battery, fill the cartridge with juice by dripping into it from the bottle, add a drop to the atomiser as well & away you go :D You will at some point most likely want to change to using cartomisers on it - I really love the Boge ones & get mine from Vape escape (use discount code ECF10 for 10% off)

Here's a run down of how to use the kit you'll get. It's called the tornado on totallywicked but it's the same as the ego and riva: TORNADO E-NI - TUTORIAL - YouTube

The ego and riva is mainly recommended for the battery, rather than what you put on it. You can use pretty much anything 510 threaded with these batteries, so don't feel you have to be stuck with the atomisers you get with it.

Like Chrissie said, you really can't go wrong with cartomisers. They hold around 25 drops so you'll want to put 25 drops in on the first fill. Better than atomisers in most people's opinion for how long you can vape between refills.

Here's a video showing the condom fill method for cartomisers: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xE-Ao9mumbM it's easier than you'd think. I only fill it this way the first time, then after that I put around 4 drops straight on the top just to keep it wet when it starts to taste a little dry.

And hey Chrissie, have you tried these guy's liquid or seen any reviews for them? http://www.gecigarette.co.uk/category/53-genesis-e-liquid.aspx They're cheap enough anyway lol

Lol, I came across them recently as an affiliate of theirs joined AAE-C pretending to be just a happy clappy customer :D Their juice looks cheap, but other items not so cheap. Mind you, the cheapest Dekang juice in the UK has to be from Vapoursworld - 50ml for £10.70 -

Think I would rather use cartomisers. Would my VIP cartomisers fit ? cant seem to find what size the vip's are. I still have about 10 cartomisers for the vip and it would be a great bonus if they fitted the Riva.
Thanks for your help.

Tavish, I'm fairly certain the VIP is a RN4081 super mini. So the cartomisers wont fit the Riva without an adapter. Plus non of the good UK suppliers sell replacement 4081 cartomisers. If I was you, I'd just refill & use the cartos you have with your VIP batteries till they die as back up & in the meantime go for the ego/Riva. OK, I know the Freedomvape kit comes with atties/carts rather than cartomisers, but it's such a good deal & you can buy 510 cartomisers so cheaply to use with it :)

Hi ya
Just looking at the cartomisers in that link. I notice the resistance differs. What sort would I need for the ego/riva I ordered ? Saw the dip tips on that page, do I need to buy one of those ? Sorry to be a pest:oops:

Ah! Sorry, I'm just back from Edinburgh so I'm not as fast to respond. It's up to you at the end of the day but I would recommend 2.0ohms, with 2.5ohms as a minimum for an ego/riva. 2.5ohms will be warm but 2.0ohms will be a much stronger hit. Maybe you could try out both to see which you prefer.

You don't need drip tips for cartomisers but it wont hurt to have one to use with your atomisers or if you just prefer a slightly cooler vape you can also use them with the cartomisers for a little extra distance from the heating coil. Drip tips are cheap so sure, why not throw one in :D

You aren't being a pest at all Tavish :)

The Low resistence cartomisers give you more vape & throat hit. There have been a few reports that the very low resistance cartos, such as the 1.5ohm Dual coils, draw more power from the Riva's than the switch circuitry can cope with. However, you should be OK with the Boge Lr's as they are 2ohms

A drip tip is well worth having. The cartos can get quite hot so using a drip tip is a lot comfier on the lips :) Plus after initially filling the cartos using the condom method, remove then bung & replace it with a drip tip 7 you can then top up as & when via the tip.
