Hi guys, I am pretty new to the E-cig scene, looking for help with my eGo-T

Straight to the matter at hand... I have an eGo-T and its worked pretty well for me and I do like it. The big complaint I have right now is that it gets really harsh to take a hit if you fill it up, smoke it half way down (over like a day) and at that point the fluid changes to a dark color from clear as well. Some times I refill it even though the liquid is starting to change color. Doesn't work so well, its still harsh as it was with more fresh fluid. Well what I do when this happens is I dump the discolored remaining liquid out, take it apart, clean the wick coil system by running it under water and drying. Put it all back together, fill her up and she is back to normal. Now I hate to waste vapor liquid like that by dumping it out, but its basically unsmokeable stuff. Why is this happening? Do I need to clean my Atomizer at this point now to prevent this from happening? Thanks in advance.

Juice delivery device... not sure what you mean... at all. lol. I actually use a syringe to inject the chamber so I know for certain I won't flood it down the hole there. Yeah, I noticed that the wicks get caramelized, that's a good way to put it. So you don't actually rinse the wicks clean, you just empty the chamber and attempt to vap to clean then eh?? Interesting idea, seems like it would damage it. I'm using SimplyVapor.com 's stuff that I get at a tobacco shop. I'm starting to get low on my watermelon flavor now, where would you recommend getting what kind of juice? As far as flavor goes, I would like to try new ones, like a mint berry or something good. So you use protanks, thats just the chamber where your e cig holds the fluid right? it sounds like you have a different model then I. Thanks in advance

I'm not good with juice recommendations, because I make my own. Hopefully others will come along.

I'm also not that familiar with the ego t, but I think that your ego battery will accept all sorts of juice delivery devices (the things that hold the juice and vaporize the liquid). You are not limited to whatever came with your ego t. I'm not sure which you are using or which comes with the ego t, so I don't know if you can dry burn it or not.

Sorry, I guess I'm not much more helpful than the spammer. Lol.

haha, lol, I actually laughed at that one. Well, I'm not really having any big problems with my e cig, but I'm just wasting a bit of liquid here and there. Yeah I suppose your right as far as my battery goes, I could hook it up to a new dealy, but I might as well just take good care of what I got and see how long it'll last me.

I'm just trying to figure out the root problem, if its just my coil system that I need to regularly keep clean, or perhaps something to do with my atomizer..??? I just don't understand why my liquid changes colors like that and becomes seemingly toxic.

I don't know... its really not an issue if I clean it and re fill it with fresh fluid and dump what has gone bad for some reason. once its all fresh and ready to go, it works good. I don't know if there is anything to do about this, and it may have to do with the flavor and/or brand of liquid I'm using, but I feel sometimes when I smoke it, I taste less of the watermelon and more of the nicotine taste. is there something I can do to make it burn as "purely" as possible? Maybe my atomizer needs maintenance, I don't know the answer. I'm sure whatever I need to do would fix both problems at the same time. You know, sometimes its just fine, but I know there must be a way to make it hit with more flavor and less harsh nicotine taste.

Bump, thanks for reading, any thoughts will do

I have 4 ego batteries and you can use many different tanks, Kanger, vivi nova...Just got a kanger pro tank that i love. As far as the color and taste issues, I have the same they darken but and do start to get a little burnt taste. the best thing i've found it to dont let liquid get below 1/2 empty. it freshens up whats left in the tank. I just pour it back on top of the juice thats left. or change the atomizer before it gets terrible tasting.

I wish some ego t experts would chime in here, because I don't know anything about them.

Would you be willing to try a different sort of juice delivery topper for your ego? I know a lot of people like the evods. The evod will fit on ego batteries. It is a bottom coil clearomizer, and when the coils go bad or get too dirty, you can just replace the 'head' rather than the whole tank. Heads are inexpensive to replace. Another advantage of the evod is that you can take it apart and dry burn the coils to get rid of all the caramelized/burned juice on them. If you'd like to give that a try, I can point to some videos that show how to dry burn and reassemble an evod.

Here is a link to a good supplier, with decent prices: black evod tank. There are different color tanks available on that same website.

And here are the replacement coils for that tank.

The Protank that Hoof posted about is very similar to the evod. It uses the same type of replacement heads (they are actually interchangeable). The main differences are that the protank is a little larger (holds more liquid) and its made of Pyrex rather than plastic, so the particular flavors that crack plastic do not damage the protank glass. The protank is not specifically 'ego threaded' but it will fit and work just fine on an ego, and the one I have came with a beauty ring to cover up the outer, unused threads on the ego battery.

Too bad I'm a bit stuck with this one atm. If it keeps performing this way, its gunna be in the garbage soon unless I figure out what I could do to make it burn like it did right out of the box. Thing is, I just bought 3 bottles of some high quality vapor online today, I'd rather not waste half of it. I would really like if I could just get this thing to vaporize less harsh. You can't taste any of the actual flavor once my tank is down to half way, it tastes like a mix of nicotine and harshness. I've just topped it off before as well, but with mine at least, it just gets worse faster, like 1/4 way down, so I waste more that way.

I believe I chose the wrong E-cig, and did not research it properly before buying. Shoulda went online to shop instead of a local tobacco store. Eventually I'm gunna be in the market for a new one, but for now, what is the actual problem I'm having here? Is it simply the atomizer needing maintenance or is it already garbage?? The thing only cost 25$ Whats my most cost effective solution to achieving good quality vapor pulls. Should I just get another "head" for my battery? Where can I get the right/good one online? Thanks

Wow, I just re-read your post, and you already answered me haha whoops. Well I guess it was a bump anyway if anyone else wants to chime in on my situation here. Thanks in advance.

Yeah so that looks like a great option for me, depending on shipping prices, should be less then 20 bucks to solve my problem, plus the waiting time to receive it. I already got juice on order, I might as well get a new higher quality head that will work on my battery I already have. To be honest, unless there is a way to maintain this one I have now to make it pull like new, its getting close to useless as its getting worse. I do vape a lot throughout the day, I don't think this one cuts it.

Okay, so I want to get this ordered soon, if not tonight, tomorrow. What I would really like to know is what parts exactly would I need to keep everything working right. you say I would need the tank itself of course. Then I would just need replacement coils and thats it? How many replacement coil systems would you recommend I order here? Let me know, and I'm gunna click an order here as soon as I hear back! :D Its way too cheap to not get something that will actually work a long time. By the way, how long do E-cigs like these last anyways?

Hey Nathan, I sent you a pm.

How long do ecigs last... It depends on whether you are talking about the part that atomizes the liquid or the battery. The battery should last at least a couple hundred charges. Some last significantly longer, some a lot less. It's sort of the luck of the draw.

The atomizers are variable as well. If you get one that can be dry burned they can last a good long while (weeks? months?) If you learn how to rebuild a coil they can last as long as the other parts are still working (there are little silicone or rubber grommets that will eventually wear out from pulling them in and out).

Cartomizers (like boge) generally last a much shorter time. I've seen some people say they've been using the same one for a month or longer, but I never got more than a week. Usually closer to 3 days. My all day juice kills coils and I like fresh coils.

The juice delivery systems are usually considered disposable. There is such a thing as an RBA (rebuildable atomizer). These are meant to be rebuilt with resistance wire and some sort of wick. These are for more advanced users who like to work on stuff like that (its not for everyone).

I think I said in the pm that I'd recommend you get at least a 5 pack of replacement coils. You'd probably want to ask for recommendations on what ohms to get for the ego t battery, because I'm not sure what will work best with that. I'm thinking 1.8 or 2.2, but not 100% sure.

The ego is a good battery, so don't kick yourself for getting that. You just need to find a juice delivery that works for you and figure out how to maintain it or replace when it's time.

I almost gave up on vaping with clearomizers also. On my last ditch attempt at a local store he was like try a Cartomizer and a Tank. That changed it for me. I love the draw and the huge clouds of vapor. I maybe get 1 bad cartomizer in a lot of 20 but that's about it. Though I have moved to RBA's at home I still take the cartomizer and tank every day to work. Everyone vapes different. I take long deep pulls. My neighbor loves clearomizers but she takes short shallow pulls. There are so many options that are cheap you can try all the main styles for not much money, esp. if you order them online. The juice is the tricky part. Even myself and my identical twin have very different taste in Juice. I have fallen for Rootbeer float from MBV(Mount Baker Vaper) and he can't stand it.

Clearomizers do caramelize and darken the juice really fast with SOME juices. Sweet ones with 50% or more VG especially. No real cure other than not vaping those juices or getting a better delivery device (something instead for the clearomizer) Like a protank.

Sooner or later, no matter what juice you use, the coils will get gunked up, and need to be cleaned, and, replaced regularly with anything. (some devices require replacing the whole cartomizer they use them but tanks just require replacing the heads as clearomizers do (unless they are the sealed, disposable kind)

Since you seem to have the rebuildable clearomizers, I'd suggest getting some new heads for them for now. The are around 1.00 each and easy to replace. You can then take the time to clean and dry the caramelized ones better since you have a new head to put in the clearomizer and use while the other one soaks if needed and, dries.

Well, I went ahead and ordered an eVod head and 5 replacement coils at 2.5 ohms. I got 2.5 because thats what came with the head itself it said there. I hope this works. So am I looking at having to ordered a replacement eVod head in under a month? How about how often I gotta replace the coils with proper maintenance? Once I get my order, then I will have to learn what I gotta do to maintain it. Someone did say that my battery will work with this head... I hope it does.

Nathan! You should get your .... down to the Vermillion River store in Lakeville (you're close enough!).

My starter set was the eGo-T with CE4 clearomizers. I was not a fan of those. Anyway, the store in Lakeville will totally help you and they have excellent juice. I purchased my ProTanks from them, my MVP, a DCT tank, various other gadgets and juice. It will be well worth your trip to check them out..

Oh, and I'm a fan of Simply Vapour, but I wish they would sell online. I get the Tobacco, Snow Mint and Menthol flavors (from my local tobacco store). All have worked out great. I don't know what they are charging you at your shop, but I get 30 ml for $17.

Vermillion River juice is 30 ml for $18, but if you find a flavor you like and want to order big, you get 60 ml for $32.50. You can sample if you go to their store.

Best wishes and it's great to see another Minnesotan!

You can put any of the resistance of heads in the evod. They all work. The lower ohm ones would probably serve you better with a 3.4 V device. To me, 3.4 V with 2.5 ohm is like sucking air, but maybe it will be different for you.

If you go to a brick and mortar, consider picking up at least 1 lower resistance head to try out.

Have fun with your new stuff!
