Hi, I am really sorry to bother you guys on my first post with a problem....but I just got my smok M65 XPro working perfect with my new kangertech sub-tank and a 6% nicotine "Vapegoons" cherry flavor called "Moist". It is Soooooo good and ultrasmooth plus leaves a Starburst after flavor that you can really suck on. Awesome. My cigarette habit has been quickly dying.
So, now I have "check atomizer" message. It has been coming on and off for a few days. If I loosened the tank a bit at the base of the mod it would work perfect again. Now not at all

1: That is probably 0.6% nicotine or 6mg/ml nicotine strength

2: Overtightening the tank on the mod can often produce problems, unfortunately.
Basically it is because of the small size of the 510 thread interface between mods and toppers/tanks/atomizers.
The centerpin on the mod tends to get pressed in; I'm not sure about the smok m65 xpro, but some of them have spring loaded centerpins nowadays and if that's the case you might need to just press that centerpin up and down a few times to make sure it's ... springy.

I have the m80 and it's spring loaded so yours should be too. I also had a sub tank, mine had a spring loaded center pin.

I had issues with the springed pin on the kanger when using a springed mod, they seem to have issues with connection.

If you have a different Atty try it on the smok and see if it stops. Then try the subtank on a different mod if you can.

The problem you're having is the reason I no longer have a subtank, the mini and nano versions seemed to work better than the original.

That's ok. I took it apart and the former owner got SO MUCH Vape Oil inside that it burned out the main power control resistor (512). Good news, I bought an Innokin-cell D50 (50 watt) mod and got it new for $75 including tax and a free $17 bottle of my favorite flavor Vapegoons Moist. Sold. It works fantastic, and has a slide-off removable battery that can be charged independent of the rest of the unit....it'sealed so no more short circuits....and the circuitry e is isolated from the important electronics. I love it. Thanks.

Thanks so much....I left it at my Vape shop....but it is still in the "broke stuff" counter for customers. See, sometimes a mod guru comes in and my guy at the shop will have him take a look. We all support each other as the goal of most who invest in good equipment is to STOP SMOKING CIGARETTES. I lucked into one of the newest mods on the market now. Innokin-cell D50....and love it. Take a look at their website, and note all the controls , parts, and design is Japanese-assembled in a completely gutted and rebuilt clean facility with first rate quality control. That's what the company says at least.

I tried three different verified as functioning kangertech sub-tanks attached to it and all were not recognized. I can't wait to go over there when they open (one mile from me) right outside Wash DC and they open at 9am. Gonna try that spring action. The Smok mod has a place for a small (jewelers) screwdriver slot and I bet I locked it down by adjusting my tank and taking it off and on to troubleshoot it. Great tip.
It was working one minute....then w/o any symptoms except I had to keep loosening the tank in order to avoid "check atomizer" (screen of death) as to keep to working. It worked great other than that at about 25 to 40w BTW. Retail is $59 to $69. I have heard so many nightmarish issues with it from circuitboard problems to ground wire issues, contact point scraping to get a good electrical connection. I don't want to spend a nic -fit working on it any more. However, if I can just fix the spring I can add my old tank and ebay it on the cheap.

Actually, this is the perfect place to ask the question. Simple Solutions is for VERY beginner vapers getting started vaping.

I think Edyle has it covered :)

    Hopefully that helps!
Thanks it does. I bought an Innokin-cell D50.....a seriously nice mod with all Japanese parts and assembled in quality control oriented facility right outside Hong Kong. It has three sealed sections and a slide-off li-po battery pack charged the usual way and then you can slide on a fresh one. No juice can leak in the controls or the battery. It retailed w/o the kangertech sub-tank for $90. I got it for $75 including tax and another bottle of my favorite Vapegoons Moist cherry juice at 6%.

Smok does have QC issues at times, my m80 has been great so far got it local for less than 60 and it is one of the latter versions.

I'd hang on to it if you get it straight and save it as a backup or use if you were to go to an unfriendly vape environment, like fishing, hunting, etc.
