AttyPops, can you explain to me about the body dealing with nicotine differently in the absence of tar, etc? This is curious to me. Thanks

What I have heard about this ( I am NOT a medical profesional of any sort) is that the tar in analogs helps the nicotene "stick" to your lungs better, so therefore vaping, you do not have quite the same effect (made sense to me)..... I have also heard that nicotene in vaping is absorbed in your body more through the pallete than the lungs, but I dont know how true either of these are.

Great info from everyone on here. I'm a Noob with vaping and have a VERY similar situation. Let me break it down for every1.

Smoked analogs for 13 years. Quit cold turkey for 7 months about a year ago till I started a graveyard shift at a very stressful warehouse job where I am currently employed. I bought the ProSmoke starter kit a couple weeks ago after watching and reading many reviews that might have been biased or not for about $80.

THE RESULTS...

The ProSmoke was not for me. I wanted something "JUST LIKE" an analog... (Look, feel, etc.) Even after a week of further research after buying the starter kit and blowing 2 atties in 3 days, tiny carts with minimal flavor I.M.O. that leaked nic juice after applying 1 drop of juice, and having to recharge battery's at work 3 times a shift, I knew I needed to join a forum and get the REAL info. and UPGRADE! Ya know Dot all my I's and cross all my T's. I upgraded yesterday to a 510 which I'm enjoying alot more. So far every problem listed above I haven't had and I'm actually getting an ok amount of vapor for a "work rig" Being a new member here I'm limited to threads I can post in so I figured I ask here.

What's the best info whether it be links on the forum or just personal opinions on new setups/models to try out for work and at home without going broke??? I'm already a couple hundred $'s in and I'm sure I'll be spending plenty more for the enjoyment but I don't want to waste anymore money then I need to on over advertised mediocre products right? I'm in it for the long haul. No more analogs! I'm open to checking out anything but minis pretty much. So far vaping is like appreciating a good quality beer for me. New flavors of E-juices being like trying a really strong 2x IPA or Cask conditioned ale for the 1st time. You can't get that out of an analog or in other words your local gas station.

I ordered some new juices from Backwoods Brew so hopefully I'm on the right path. Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. Glad to be a part of the boards. Thanks everyone.

I originally started with a 510 kit also... but Id kill a battery every hour or so, and that just wasnt good enough for me to quit analogs on... so I got a Riva 510 kit from liberty flights ( MUCH longer battery life) and havent looked back.... now I prefer the boge 2.0 cartos with it as you can fill it up and itll last a while, dont gotta change carts every 37 minutes or whatever.... kit at LF is about $30 so its not real expensive either.

I think I must be doing something wrong: I haven't had to charge my battery or switch batteries at all yet today. I thought they were only supposed to last about 2 hours - ?!

Also, since I first topped off my carto which I've done again several times since, I've got a slight whistling noise when inhaling, I've toyed around with the placement of the plug but it doesn't seem to matter whether it's shoved even below the rim or several mm above it. Ideas?

And I did a little more research into passion fruit and discovered that it's typically smoked so thought it would be safe enough to add to my vape. I can't say that I taste it nor that it's making any overt difference in the way I feel. But I've still only had the one analog after lunch which I'd guess makes at least 12 analogs I've avoided. Can't say my craving for them is non-existent, but it's currently tolerable. I think hiding the ashtrays and lighters may help.

Passion flower, eh? You're adding it to the juice? Is it a tincture? Just don't put passion flower essential oils to your juice, whatever you do. Oils are no good for vaping... Honestly, just make yourself some passionflower tea. Or just take a few drops orally.

Carto getting hot is normal but it isn't good!

Cartos should not overheat-they'll burn! Cartos overheat for two reasons, most commonly:

1) the resistance of the carto is lower than it should be and thus more heat is generated than it should. I don't believe you own a multimeter, do you? Didn't think so...

2) (more likely in your case), you're overvaping it, meaning, you take very long drags or you're chainvaping. Don't! Have at least two cartos in rotation, or three. They need time to rest between inhalations; to cool the coil and rewick the juice. Go slowly!

Whistling???? :D

The taste of a burning carto is rather unmistakable--think car on fire!

The Passionflower extract describes itself as a "dietary supplement". Definitely has an effect.

Hm, ok, I just thought since I'm really not using flavors that I'd just use the one carto until it died and then move on to another. Sometimes, I seem to get a really good, smooth hit but it gets hot hot hot and other times it's mediocre and generally not hot. These cartos are pretty expensive, as far a I'm concerned, I can't imagine this vaping being economically feasible if I could only get 6 uses out of every carto.

8 drops of passionflower is too much for me and renders me kinda "stoned".

What is the whistling about?!

Honestly, I'm not sure if I'm burning the cartos or if this what the passion flower just tastes like based on other peoples' reports.

Oh, you're a bird now. Birds scare me.

Well, I'm smoking my 4th cigarette since the robots arrived which is still more than I'd hoped to be smoking but way less than the pack, pack and a half that I'd have usually smoked. Even with the passionflower/fruit/whatever, there's definitely something missing. That may be just my body being addicted to the evil chemicals. But I feel a great deal more relaxation from an analog than from the vape although it clearly is sating a good deal of my needs given the cutback I made today. However, it was also a new toy today and a Saturday during which I had no responsibilities other than making sure my cat was fed and my plant was watered. The experiment continues....

coilover, I'm not sure exactly where you are, but there's a SoCal meet up on the 16th. If you find the SoCal subforum they have the address listed. I forget which beach, one of the beaches in the OC. And I'd be going, myself, but am in LA and have to go to a birthday party that night.

Hey, Thanks for the heads up kumquat! I'm actually in San Bernardino County (about an hour out from LA.) I'd love to head out to that on the 16th if I have the time. Laguna's only about an hour away from here as well. I'll be sure to keep up with the SoCal Subforum in the future. You better be careful if you gotta go to a birthday party that night... You might spend too much $ on all sorts of shenanigans at the meet up and give the birthday boy/girl a whole lotta nada! haha

SWEET! Yeah I still go through a couple battery's a day on the 510 but I'm quite pleased with it for being what it is and the price I got it for in a starter. I'm about to order the RIVA 510 SE right now. Everyone's been twisting my arm and everytime I go on that site I just keep adding to the cart without checking out! haha I'll have to check out the boge 2.0 cartos. I like the fact of filling them up for a good all day juice. Then again I'm pretty interested in drip tips as well. I dunno I'll have to do some more homework before I end up going broke for the weekend.

Guess I'll have to try both out. Thanks demon.

It's actually one of them fancy don't bring gifts/be quiet while the hired band plays parties, but I'd rather be there celebrating my friend than stuck in snarly Saturday traffic...probably wishing I had a cigarette in the car or a way to get out of the highway parking lot and onto an off-ramp. The traffic here drives me mad. But, if I had the day free, I'd totally be there. Hopefully, next time. I find it weird there isn't more of an interest in this stuff in LA; I'd think a brick & mortar in Hollywood would thrive.
