Hi all. I just wanted to introduce myself before I started asking a ton of questions. I have been a dedicated smoker for almost 30yrs (a few months short). For the last 29 ½ years I have smoked every day, anywhere from 1 pack to 3 packs a day. 1 ½ to 2 packs a day for the last 2 or 3 yrs. Except for 3 days, a few years ago when I tried to quit (on the patch). I have smoked while in the hospital for a night, while I had bronchitis. I smoked every day, no matter what Dedicated!
I was googling E cigs and tripped across this forum on Jan 21st. I spent Friday thru Sunday (about 50 hours) reading this forum. I believe it allowed me to make a semi educated decision about what to buy.
I purchased a Joye 510 no box starter kit from Cignot. I also ordered 5 whistle tip carts to refill. Cignot comes highly recommended on here for both price (they are the cheapest I found) and for service. I placed my order at 4:30pm (at the end of the business day) on Monday the 25th and had it in my hand Wednesday morning, with normal shipping (I thought that was fast).
I am a menthol smoker, so after researching it on here I chose to order 30ml Nuport from Nhaler. The consensus was (IMO) that its the closest to a menthol analog. I also ordered 6ml 555 menthol, 6ml Drewbacco samples, a 510 to kr808 carto adapter, and 5 menthol cartomizers. . I placed my order at 4:30pm (at the end of the business day) on Monday the 25th and had it in my hand Thursday morning, with normal shipping.
I ordered from two different companies because money is really tight for me right now. Looking back, if I did it again I would have placed my whole order with Nhaler. Its nothing against Cignot, great product, fast shipping and best price. Its the fact that I only saved a dollar or two.
I purchased the 510 because it is supposed to be the best 3 piece overall, (vapor, taste, throat hit, and price). I purchased the carto adapter so I could try cartomizer.
My thoughts so far, (Sunday morning, day 4). The 510 has been inconsistent at best. I would say only about 15% of my hits have been good, (vapor, taste, th). Thats using the prefilled carts, filling my own and dripping. The carts dont wick fast enough (my opinion). A few flooded attys dripping. I am going to try the blue foam mods later today (just bought the foam last night, washed it and let it dry over night). We will see if that helps.
The cartomizers are more consistent but at best arent as good as a good hit from the 510 atty. I havent had the wicking problems with the cartos. I ordered menthol but I think I got Crest instead ( I belive this has happened to other people who ordered menthol from a variety of suppliers). Last night I refilled to cartos with Nhalers Nuport. The first one was pretty good still some Crest flavor. The other I over filled and have been trying to vape through it.
Nhalers Nuport is pretty good. I have only tried a few flavors so far but at this point its the only one I am vaping now. Comparing the menthol (Crest) cartomizers, The 555 menthol (only semi Crest) and Nhalers Nuport. Nuport is the closest to a menthol analog. I will be ordering more.
I smoked 7 analogs on Thursday, (my first day trying my 510 had to charge batteries), 2 before I started, 5 others when I was over 100 miles from home, driving and had 2 dead batteries. I only smoked one on Friday and 2 on Saturday and none so far today.
