I quit smoking 13 days ago.
and it didn't metter what type of ecig i got, I just went for what i could get my hands on next day, got blu cigs at walmart
and been vaping since

hang in there until my orders arrived, now been vaping for almost two weeks and I can say with high degree of accuracy i will never smoke analogs again for the rest of my life, and as a bonus today i noticed my food is tasting great

so get your hands on whatever you can, vape, neck may hurt from vaping but thats a small price to pay.

my throat is better my neck hurts now from vaping :)

So I think I have decided to built my own kit..
Which would you all say is easier to start with, an atty+cart or just a cartomizer?
Also, after that has been decided, do I just need a battery? (aside from chargers & eliquid)
And third, am I able to customize and choose from different mouthpieces?

Thanks for all the help so far guys. :)
You need two batteries minimum. One to charge and one to vape.
You can get by without mouthpieces at first, we just all end up getting fond of them.
Clearomizers (I do NOT recommend these) come with special mouthpices.
Most cartomizers, and the ViVi Novas, can use standard "drip tip" mouthpieces.

I haven't tried atty+cart yet.

3 week noob here and I have found the 510 style is by far the most prevalent. however I went with V4L eGo kit for $55 EGO Kit with 2 Batteries, 5 5ml Dual Coil Mega Cartomizers, and 1 Slim Charger - Weekly Specials - Shop Our Products | Vapor4Life

2 batteries, 5 5ml mega carto's, charger, etc. 808 threaded so you can try the 1ml samplers they sell before a bottle of juice. Works great for me even though previous poster was trying to stir something...I'm a noob so not sure whats to be stirred.

Best of luck!

So I think I have decided to built my own kit..

One of the reasons I included on the "purchase order" I posted for you, both clearomizers (have their own mouthpiece) and cartomizers (you put your own drip tip on) was so that you can try both, and decide which you like best.

You could certainly use a vivi nova tank instead of a clearomizer, but it will be more expensive, which is why I didn't include it in your "first" purchase.

The DCT tank will allow you to "try" a tank that is fed by a punched cartomizer (has hole(s) punched in them so when you put juice in the tank it will go into the cartomizer at the end of which you will have a drip tip on and be vaping from.) The adapter ring will make it look nice and sit flush on your ego batt.

IF you want a vivi nova, then you can certainly just get that instead of both the clearomizers and the DCT tank and the cartomizers. :) Put that on top of your battery and vape away. I just thought you would want to try all these things starting out.

(I realize someone else said not to get clearomizers, but I like mine, and do not like cartomizers due to the polyfil...... but again, this is an individual decision, and I think YOU should be the one to decide, not me or anyone else. And you can't make that decision until you vape on this stuff. )

So in the order I posted are 2 twist batts, so you have backup, as well as both clearos and cartos, as well as a DCT tank which you can use with the cartos. Hope it makes sense now. (I can't take credit for this, since it was what another member John prescribed for me when I started, and I happen to think it was an excellent purchase order for a newbie, so I'm just passing it on.)

I don't think any stirring was going on except to point out that 510-threaded devices are a little more common, and therefore most equipment made is designed to screw onto 510-threads. However, since there are adaptors galore to make just about anything interchangeable, it's not a big deal. Some people just don't want to be dealing with an adaptor, that's all.

I'm glad you found something that works for YOU. that is reallly all that matters.

Dunno what you mean by stirred but I'm on 1 Ego Twist, 3 808 X2's, and 3 808 78 mm. However, if a newbie says they want to go STRAIGHT to their final equipment, and would like prefilled carts, I need to say 2 ego Twist, 1-2 ViVi Nova, and some carts to try. And chargers. I may well stay on the 808's since I've got half my friends and family on them, but I know I'll end up with with one foot in the 510 world. I've had too many leakage problems with clearos that are not Vivi Novas.

i bought an ego c upgrade kit almost 2 weeks ago, i was a 2 pack a day smoker, i havent touched a smoke since it arrived in my mailbox, one thing i've found is the ego tank and replaceable attomizer pretty much sit in a box unused (they leak), i use stardusts almost exclusively, gonna get a mini nova soon(or 2 or 3) go with the ego twist, 1000mah, i have a 650 and i kill it everyday, i have 4 different ego batts (1000mah passthrough, 2 from kit and a 650 twist) rotate them all but love the twist the most, this is just from what i've experienced, if you wanna do it right get a provari right off the hop, think im getting one soon :)
