Hello ECF, I figured I'd come to you guys to learn what my next purchase should be!
I've been vaping on some small-time devices for awhile now, and I really want to move up to something that will give me a pretty large amount of vapor and flavor.
I've been doing some reading on the Atlantis, and I just went to a local B&M where one of the employees was kind enough to let me slap a drip tip on their Atlantis, and let me say - I was pretty blown away!
The Atlantis was housed on a tube mod - just a regular old metal tube with a battery inside. But the vapor was probably double or triple of what I get out of my tanks now, and the flavor was full-on. The nicest thing was though it was a low-ohm coil (0.5 I think?), I did not taste anything bad whatsoever... and I'm pretty sensitive to that stuff!
I wanted to ask, if I'm gonna drop the cash, what type of battery is best for the Atlantis? The employee recommended that the tube mods are fine (I guess they fire around 4.2V's or so, and that it's the ohm's that make the difference?) Are these really best for the Atlantis?
Reading around, I'm guessing that the 0.5ohm type coil really needs a powerful battery (are they supposed to be high-drain?) And what about box mods where you can adjust those settings? I've seen a lot of reviewers say that they enjoy the Atlantis on up in the 25 watt range. Are there any 25W range box mods that just aren't out of the ballpark in price (and not talking fasttech here...I've had iffy purchases with them)?
I guess the same advice really goes for the Subtank, which I'm eagerly waiting to try out too, if anyone in the local B&M's will let me.
I must say, the local B&M I was at also let me try an RDA with Fogboss's Johnny No Shoes (Spiked Morning Joe) and let me tell you, it was the absolute BEST coffee flavor I've ever tried in my life. So many coffee flavors have a burnt taste, and this one was sheer full-on creamy coffee with loads of flavor. There was a tobacco shop when I was a kid, in a local mall, that both sold tobacco and coffee, and this e-liquid brought back so many memories!
Hello and welcome to the forums! First let me start off by saying both are great tanks. With that said, I pondered over both, and purchased the Atlantis yesterday. I have been vaping on it and love it. The only draw back of the Atlantis is a wicking material used within. A lot of people are skeptical about how safe the material is. With that said, depending on your skills. You can take the head apart, take said material out, and rewrap it with Japanese cotton (which is what i am going to do tomorrow). If you aren't too sure on being to be able to do that, it's up to you if you want to take the risk with the material. If you do not, I would recommend the Subtank. The only con I have heard about it, is that it is a wonky 25mm. aesthetics are all personal opinion though, so if you dont mind it sitting weird on your mod, than I say go for it.
you were mentioning Mechanical Mods, or Variable voltage mods to go along with the tanks. I would strongly recommend a box mod capable of at least 20 watts. I would not suggest a mechanical mod simply because you can't change the wattage. Being able to adjust the wattage will help you fine tune your setup to get a vape that you enjoy.
I hope this helps you, and if you have any questions or don't understand something I said, feel free to ask away. Myself and everyone else on the forum are more than happy to help you
