Hello and welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here!:)

If you are new to mech mods and rebuildables I highly recommend you spend some time with Baditude (our resident battery expert) and visit his blogs. You are now 100% in control of your own safety (and others around you). Make sure you purchase an ohm reader and a voltmeter or DMM so you can measure your builds, check for shorts and measure the remaining charge on your batteries.

Baditudes Blogs. The blogs regarding mods and rebuildables are listed below:

BATTERIES

9. Battery Basics for Mods: IMR or Protected ICR?
* Another essential read to understand which batteries are safe to use in mechanical and regulated mods. Includes a frequently updated list of recommended safe-chemistry, high-drain batteries with their specifications.

17. Purple Efest Batteries Not As Advertised
* A cautionary blog that reveals that the purple Efest batteries may not have the specifications advertised. Also includes a commentary on "continuous discharge ratings" vs "pulse discharge ratings" of battery specs.

OHM'S LAW

14. Ohm's Law for Dummies (Vapers)
* My attempt at explaining Ohm's Law in layman terms and how it relates to vaping.

16. Explain it to the Dumb Noob: Ohm's Law Calculations
* As simple as it is to use, some people have a tough time grasping the concept. Warning: Includes graphic photos of mod explosions.

Hi Dpmiler and welcome to ECF. The 454 is a very nice, rather advanced RDA that has some interesting options for coil design. I suggest you Google '454 rda build', watch the videos and do some reading. I don't have one, so I don't know if it will allow you to shut off three air holes or even two, so you'll have to figure that out and decide on the number of coils from there.

Make sure you know what the maximum continuous amp discharge rating of your batteries is and don't go above that by using too low a resistance build. If you do that your battery will start heating up and if you get it too hot it will vent which is not good. I believe your MNKE are good for 20A.

Thanks guys my amp on my battery say 30 amp and 60 pulse I have 28 gage my rda has adjustable air holes for single duel and quad I just want to no what my ohm limit should be so I don't go over I got the coil app but it makes no sence

to me I guess I'm a dum noob lol

Smart enough to be here asking questions is nowhere near dumb :thumb:

First off, here is a chart of batteries with amp draw data. It was very well researched by a couple of guys from ECF. It shows MNKE are 20A batts. Pulse would be 40A. Quite a few batteries are being wrapped by unscrupulous venders with inaccurate information on them. Authentic MNKE do not have amp limits printed on them. Minimum resistances are on the chart too.

I would start with a single coil at around 0.7 ohms using one air hole and see how that vapes. Line up the air hole so you can see the middle of the coil when you look through the cap. Personally I like dual coil builds and always do that when I can. They are in parallel so the final resistance will be half of each coil. So if you want 0.6 ohms, you make two 1.2 ohm coils. 28 gauge wire will work well for all of these and the resistance will be quite safe.

I don't know what coil design app you have. I use the Steam Turbine online calculator on my computer and it works very well for me. If you try it and have trouble using it, let us know and I'll walk you through an example.
