Hi.

I have been lurking here a few days, and I've learned quite a bit. While I think I have most of the jargon figured out, I am now trying to figure out what I need to order.

A little about me may be able to help. I am 42, and have smoked a pack a day for 19 years. I am highly motivated to stop tobacco. My two-year old son deserves better. However, I DO have a strong nicotine addiction, and do enjoy the habit. I also enjoy the tobacco taste, if not the smell.

I've tried the disposable e cigs, and I realize that e cigs will work for me.

I am looking for:

A decent amount of vapor
A fairly strong throat kick
A pretty large volume tank, and I do like tanks that I could see the liquid inside.
A low-battery indicator is a plus.

I have been leaning heavily towards the eGo-T kit, or the eGo-C kit.

Would either of these meet my needs, or what would you suggest?

Because it looks like I'll have to get everything online, what replacement pieces to I need to keep on hand? Am I on the right track?

Finally, I need to find somewhere that I can order at a reasonable price, ships promptly, and is reliable.

I'll most likely be ordering USA Blend Tobacco E juice Baker Vapor from

USA Blend Tobacco E Juice Baker Vapor - Mt Baker Vapor - Electronic Cigarettes

The members of my home forum, ARFCOM, seem to like the company, and it looks like I can order the juice in larger quantities. I assume I'll need to order spare atomizers (and what else) when I order.

Oh.... while budget is not a major constraint, I'd like to stay under around $130 for the actual kit.

Thank you SO much for your help.

I would start with an ego type device. Either a spinner or twist battery with an Evod, protank, or kanger T3 for the juice tank.
The Protank might be a bit top heavy for an ego battery but T3 and evods are easy to refill during the day.

Sounds like you have an idea of what you would like for liquid but I do suggest that you order small sample sizes in various flavors. You won't know exactly what you like until you try it. MBV is a good place to start sampling as prices are reasonable.

Any of the approved vendors are a good place to start. I have always had great customer service from good prophets and got vapes.

Welcome!

Try to get tobacco flavor samples first. As for the battery, a good Variable Voltage battery will work great to adjust taste from different flavors and cartridges and a good start.

For parts, first decide your ejuice delivery method being a cartomizer, clearomizer or dripper. Or you can buy a few of each to compare delivery methods. After that, then you can buy extra heads for clearomizers, spare dripping atomizers, etc.

For stores, usually I buy from the stores in the forums. Just keep an eye for specials and coupons.

If you got more questions, ask. It may seem like a big investment at first but the rewards are great in health and as a hobby.

I've been following the same thread (same username on ARFCOM) and they have some good tips.

I would go with an ego twist or spinner to start with in at least 1000mah and a vivi nova clearo or evod system. The twist/spinner gives you variable voltage so you can test different settings. You will probably need to start with 24 mg if you like a strong hit. I will bump this up so you will get more suggestions. You tube has tons of reviews and videos also. Welcome to ECF.

I second this motion. VV is a must if u looking for a good throat kick ino the regular egos wont do it for you, ego c twist or a vision spinner with evod would be my recommendation.

Altho thats far below your spending limit and you said you would like to know your battery level for that I would suggest a VAMO with a evod or protank.

If I was you I would go with the vamo & protank route because your ptobably going to end up getting a vamo anyways as an upgrade from the ego as most tend to do and the protank has a much larger juice capacity

Happy vaping :)

eGo batteries are great to start with, but I'd stay away from the Cs/Ts. I've only had bad experiences with those. Like Leal said, start with a good reliable clearomizer like what Kanger offers and move up from there. The eVod's form factor looks good on an eGo battery, and considering you're new, you probably won't drain more than a tank a day. They're very easy to fill and require little maintenance. On top of that, replacement parts are very affordable.

I started a couple of my former smoking buddies on eGo-C Twists and Kanger eVods, and they haven't looked back to analogs since.

I'll just add to the advice here - don't buy a lot of juice at once. MBV is an excellent vendor and I get most of my juice from them - but their tobaccos are hit and miss. I highly recommend just getting 15mls of a couple of different flavors to see if you like them before taking the plunge and buying a lot.

The sampler from Halo is a good option too - you'll get 6 X 7mls of juice for about $20 if you use the code Freedom when ordering.

Can't agree more with the twist/spinner/winder batt. I'm partial to evods. Don't get hung up on saving a dollar here and there with your first kit. Might be smart to order from the same vendor for kit and juice. Arrives together and off to vapeland 10 minutes after you open the box.

Get 2 batts. I have 2 1100 winders I bought for 20 bucks each from a local shop. Felt good to support a local owner and it was instant gratification.

For 100 bucks you can get 2 good vv batts, charger, 3 tanks, 5 heads and plenty of cash leftover to buy a good mix of juice.

Thanks so much for the suggestions. What are the primary differences between cartomizer, clearomizer or dripper?

I do know that I like the premise of the tanks that I am seeing with the wicks inside. I assume that is part of the difference in delivery methods?

As for batteries, I was thinking that the Ego were proprietary batteries... are there things that I need to look for in batteries that will fit the Ego system?

Thanks. I know I sound like an idiot, but I am just covering my bases.

I totally agree and love the mini Vivi nova and evods. Good luck!

Vivi Nova and juice from MtBaker. Can't go wrong. Pretty new to me too. But, I've got six different juices right now I'm switching between and they're from MtBaker. Loving then all! Only other one that I can't stop using is Mojito Mint from Jet. SO good, wish their pricing was better. And klynn is right, for that throat hit I go with the 24mg. Odds are you'll be off tobacco before you know it. And be enjoying the new experience at the same time.

In simple terms
Carto tanks are wickless tanks where the juice is pulled in through a small hole in the center post.

Clearo tanks use wicks and are very much plug and play these are your vivi novas Evods and protanks.

Rba rebuildable attomizors are more advance in which you build your own wick and coil and drip onto it.

I highly suggest starting with clearos as they are the most plug and play.

There are a lot of different companies that produce ego style batteries. They have interior 510 threads and larger ego threads on the outside. Like this. Most are standard threading.

image.jpg

Clearomizers are tanks with the atomizer integrated into the device such as evods.

image.jpg

Cartomizers are atomizers that are surrounded by wicking material that you saturate with e liquid and vape until dry and refill or place in a carto tank which in essence refills it for you continually.
image.jpg

Atomizers are separate devices that you can drip a few drops into vape for a few pulls and then refill with a few drops ECF.
Like this image.jpg

There are no stupid questions when you are starting out.
