Hi, I smoked for 24 yrs and decided to try ecigs. I tried the blu 1st and didn't like them. Then I saw the vaporzone pro (resembles the kanger evod) so I bought it. The 1st month the taste of the ecig was great and I weaned myself off cigarettes to none. I then purchased additional clear cartomizers (resemble kanger 2) and atominizer heads (1.8 ohms) and have been getting a burnt flavor which I really can't stand and found myself having a few cigarettes. The battery is 650 mah 3.7 volt. eliquids are 12mg, 50/50. Is the atominizers 1.8 ohm the problem should I order 2.5 ohm? Or what could be causing the burnt taste with every flavor? Please help!!

Hi, welcome :)

I'd suggest changing out the atomizers. Find a good local shop, chat up the staff, and get yourself set up with something you really like. Depending on the manufacturer, atomizers can sometimes be hit or miss. I'm not familiar with the vaporzone pro, but it could also be the battery degrading/shorting (I don't really know about that though, another might chime in).

I live a 45 minute boat ride away from any stores, and a 2 hour drive away from any vape shops... My advice is get yourself set up with a battery/tank combo you like, atomizers for it, and then a back up battery/tank or three ;)

I've so far tried putting a brand new atominizer in when I get the burnt taste but then the new one starts tasting burnt also. I hate to keep ruining them if that's not the problem . So was wondering if it was the 1.8 ohm new atominizers I bought. I have 6 cartomizers and 2 batteries and getting burnt flavor in all of them. When I 1st bought it it came with 3 replacement atominizer heads a 1.8,2.4,2.8 ohm and being newbie I wasn't sure which one to reorder so I ordered the 1.8 atominizer.

Interesting, do you recall if the original 1.8 ohm atomizer had decent taste? I would definitely try to get a hold of a 2.4 or 2.8 and test them out. Looking on a chart posted in another thread, it shows 1.8 ohms being alright at 3.7 volts, however, if the battery is full, it may be pumping up to 4.2 volts (I don't know if this happens with your batteries). Though if that's the case, you may get that burnt flavour from too much current running through the lower resistant coils _/:)/)\_

I found that I was getting a burnt taste in my Kanger Evod tanks while vaping Dragon's Apple juice on 1.8 ohm coils. Switched to 2.2 ohm coils, and no more burnt taste. Similarly, while vaping Guava juice on 2.2 ohm coils, it tasted a little muted. Switched to 1.8 ohm coils, and BAM!, it was like an entirely different juice. Both juices, in Kanger Evods, on eGo-T 900mAh batteries, btw.

That may be what causes my smaller tank coils (1.8 ohm) to burn out sometimes when I use them on my Astro. It has the 3.7 1100mAh batteries, sometimes after using them on that one, they won't fire again on my slimline 1100mAh mod. Dead, sucking air only.

To hopefully remedy this, I ordered a 5 pack of 2.5 ohm coils, they should be here by Friday.

I didn't know while using them that they were different ohm's until I went to reorder so I don't remember last month tasting this bad other than flavors that sampled and didn't like. I even called and all the lady said was it came with 3 different ones so didn't help much in picking one. I have noticed when the battery is fully charged it is a really burnt taste and my new batteries only last maybe 3/4 hours but I have been vaping more since no real cigarettes. But it is so horrible it's making me not want to vape. I will try ordering the 2.5 ohm and see if that helps. I've already went threw a 5 pack of atominizer since getting the 1.8's

Are you priming your new wicks/heads? Anytime you put a new one in you need to prime it by puffing on it several long draws without pushing the firing button. This pulls juice into the cotton good to get it started. Also, if you are taking deep draws you could be drying out your wick before it has time to pull liquid Bach into it. If you chain Vape, then after every few puffs do a prime.

Yes I did go threw a week of not being able to taste my ejuices so would have to switch up flavors so I assumed I had vapors tongue or something. LOL. I'm ordering the 2.5 ohm atominizers right now just to see if that's what's wrong. It does help to prime in between but it seems I have to prime alot to not get a burnt taste. I definitely don't want to go back to cigarettes nor do my kids want me to and even the few I've had don't taste as good as the fruity ejuices I've found to like!! I was smoking a pack and a half of marlboro lights so I'm feeling very proud of myself not having any.
