I'm new to this forum, and to e-cigs really. I know some enthusiasts would scoff but after a couple days of research I pulled the trigger on SmokeTip's starter kit. It was around father's day, and they were doing a buy one get one free starter kit so a friend and I went in half and bought a couple kits at $30/piece. He's had some trouble letting go of regular cigs but after a couple weeks I don't desire them at all. At first I missed it a bit, but I just kept vaping (haha that word is weird to me, still don't know if I like it) and the desire has just about gone completely away.

I still smoke occasionally but only when my batteries are both dead because I forgot to charge one of them up.

My experience with SmokeTip so far has been a good one. The batteries seem to last a decent amount of time, and the flavors they offer are really subtle but delicious. My income is limited so I had to consider the reoccurring cost before I ordered. I checked into several sites and ST seemed to fit what I was looking for the best. At this point, I don't want to worry about dripping, or any of the technical side of it honestly. I just want to change my cart and go without extracting or injecting fluids into things or whatever - while saving some money vs. reg cigarettes (analogs? - another weird word that makes me feel like I'm too deep into the mustard).

Anyway, I'm enjoying it and reading the info and reviews from people on here. Just wanted to pop in and say hello and share a little of my experience so far.

Cheers.

You're right in sync with most who take up an Inhaler verses a cigarette. People want something that will take them off cigarettes. They want no muss, no fuss. They want to Replace putting a pack of smokes and a lighter in their pocket with something else that is just as convenient.
With that attitude, you can't fail to kick smokes and discover a whole new experience.

Hi and welcome. If you are content with your ST then consider yourself lucky. Most people start with e cigs like that one and then move on to something better in no time. If you're getting good flavor and vapor then be happy. Can you get some cartomizer for your ST? They hold more liquid and last longer than cartridges.

If you can get by with what you have, then relish in the moment. But if I were you with what I've experienced, save up some coin and at the right time, up your enjoyment and satisfaction by getting a more carefree and reliable PV system.

Hop aboard!

There's a lot of information to take in regarding this. I know it's all around this forum, but you mentioned something more carefree and I'm interested. Is there something similar to what I'm using now that you would recommend? I'd like maximum enjoyment with minimal worry as far as changing cartridges and charging batteries. That's the only thing that I'd change with my current set up is the battery life. Even so, it's not too bad. It lasts for about half a cartridge. According to SmokeTip, the cartridge is equivalent to about 1.25 packs. I was a pack a day smoker previously, and so far I've noticed they last the duration a pack used to last me realistically. I have to change the battery in between carts, which isn't a big deal because I carry my kit in my backpack wherever I go, but if there is something compatible you'd recommend, that offers a little bit longer battery life, I'd like to look into it.

Thanks for the welcoming all.

Welcome to ECF!

I, too, recently started with this and I, too, still find words like vaping andanalogs kinda weird. :) (I would also accept vaping as a word if the forum's spell checker would stop flagging it as a misspelled word...)

I'm also on a limited budget, so I know what you mean. I actually started this due to economics (well, that and a desire to quit smoking in a way that would not result in me becoming more psychotic, or at least neurotic, than I already am!) as cigarettes took up more than half my disposable income and it was actually cheaper to buy a starter kit and some cartos than it was to buy cigarettes!

BTW: Good choice on the ST. The KR808D-1 batteries (like yours, and my V4L Vapor King) seem to be decent starters and very economical.

Welcome, we all start somewhere, but dripping into an atomizer is a real kick, and as cheap or cheaper than filling carts so you might want to investigate a bit more, Soon you will be wanting an upgrade in your device also, in the long run vaping does not cost as much as smoking, but the cost is a bit more upfront than a daily expense. Say you smoked a pack a day or so...thats $150 or more a month, for that same $150 you could buy a real nice device, like a silver bullet, some batteries a couple attys, and some juice...a few for different flavors to try. This rig could last your 3 months before you would need to buy a couple more 510 atomizers (your already over $300 ahead of the game), that run around $6, each if you do your homework and look for the deals. So in the long run, vaping is cheaper.

If you want a PV battery that lasts all day and is affordable then check out the Riva 510 at Liberty Flights Electronic Cigarette - Starter Kits - Riva 510 They have a Lite Bundle for only $30 with their 20% discount. I doesn't look like a real cigarette but you will get over that soon enough. :)

Has anyone else on here that reads this post used this before? I like the all day battery idea.

Nothing wrong with a couple of days research. A week represents at least $50 in analogs, a month at least $200. Thus anything that is less than $200 is a net win. $30 for such a kit is a net win.

My only ..... about these guys is their replacement 180mAh battery is priced a little high. The 350mAh is about right, cartridges @ $2.00 is fair market value. You can find better if you shop around, but not much less than $1.60.

Refilling will save you at least 50%, given the cartos are $2, and expensive fluid is $1/ml, and you can get many refills per cartomizer, but if you're happy, be happy.

Do you know if it is possible to use cartridges other than SmokeTip's using their 180mAh battery?
