Its nice but you took that image off the internet and added text to it. I'm pretty sure Brewtus could have done that himself.
I like it and don't really think that your getting image off the internet has a dang thing to do with it. We get most of our stuff from the internet. Sounds like somebody trying to edge interest out and back to theirs. just sayin..........
I think if you are not from the company that is running the contest, you have no business criticizing anyone's work.

Lets not turn this into a hateful thing ok? Lets try to keep it friendly. I'm not trying to "edge" anybody out of anything. I just don't think Brewtus wants some image TAKEN off the internet that belongs to somebody else representing his company. He asked for people to DESIGN logos... not FIND logos and add text.

I'm a logo designer. I've been doing this for years... and I've never met someone who's looking for a logo thats been taken from the internet. Everyone I've ever worked for wanted a logo that was designed for them and belongs only to them. Do you think a business owner wants to have to worry about the original creator of a certain image contacting them and telling them that the logo they're using is stolen property?
I've found that very same image on at least 5 different crappy little websites... and on 2 of them, that image was or is being used as a logo... and thats just what I was able to find. So that image has been around the block. Do you think Brewtus is paying $300 worth of his products for that?

Look, the owner of a business (a respectable business such as High Desert Vapes) has a logo designed for them. They don't pay someone to grab an image off the net. They could do that on their own FOR FREE.
So as I said, I'm not trying to "edge interest out". Thats not how I play (especially when it comes to logo design). I let my work speak for itself... and I don't appreciate the accusation and the aggression coming from you. I simply voiced my opinion... and I thought I was rather polite while doing so.
Now lets get back to the contest shall we?

i pretty much bet you didn't drawn your own design on a interactive drawing tablet with a pen or with your mouse , whoever who knows me knows that I've participated in other logo/banner contest before and i do not say that i don't use images from the net , whoever thinks he's a logo designer and doesn't use presets like brushes, stiles and other thinks from the net hes a liar most of them are created for noncommercial use and people still use them ,

Brushes and presets? Really? You're going to compare that to grabbing a design off the net and adding text?
I didn't judge you, buddy. I was merely trying to steer this contest into a more creative direction... and was just trying to make sure the contest holder gets his money's worth. No need to be so defensive.

well your second post offended me that i dont know a thing about logos , but i wont take this disscusion any further , just let the person who's qualified to criticize our designs
Cheers! Let's put this issue to rest, or at least take the topic offline. I will not be disqualifying any submissions and will announce the winner based on the one I like the best, that is all. contest deadline is 7/4/12 so you still have some time for touch ups or to enter a whole new submission.
I really appreciate everyone's time, energy and help with this.

First of all, it is not nice to call a person "dear" in such a condescending tone. It rather defeats the effort. Secondly, I am not being aggressive. This is my mildly aggravated stance. Aggression goes somewhere else altogether.
I totally let that go, when you said you were not trying to edge him out and figured maybe I was wrong about that, but you are bringing it up again. And, of course if you think you were being polite when you actively criticized a fellow member in open forum, well I would wonder what you think impolite looks like. Now myself, if I was worried that John was about to make a mistake and use a logo that would not be good for his business, I might send him a PM and say, hey you know......<insert here whatever> What I would not do is call out a member and embarrass him in front of the entire thread. That was totally not good manners. Course, that is only MY opinion and we all have those.
I believe John is a pretty smart guy and knows a thing or two himself about what he wants and does not want. I was only saying that perhaps it would be better if we let HIM decide what he wants instead of.......say you.
Since you are a "Logo Designer" and have been doing this for years, I wonder that you don't look down upon all of our piddly efforts, but then again, it is a contest and even the winner will not be left up to you. YOU are not giving the contest. John did not pay someone to design a logo for him. I do not know why? Perhaps, he thought it would be more fun to involve some of the talented and fun people from ecf and throw a contest instead. Does any of this even make sense to you? I am not trying to fight, I am trying to make sense here. As far as getting back to the contest, most of us have already submitted our entries and now just trying to enjoy the thread and the company, while we wait on High Desert Vapes to decide who wins.
I highlighted the first part of your first sentence, so that perhaps after reading it again, you might wonder about the fairness of your entry entirely. Of course, I am not really worried. I think my entry is much nicer than yours. Of course, that is my opinion.
