Well eventually the coil will probably go so it will have to be replaced, and that is what I want to learn how to do.

Hi! Sorry so late with this, but yes, you do want to try it! It is a lot easier than I thought! Making a great one may take a little practice, but it does depend on the device as some are easier to work with than others.... The whole point of wrapping the coil around a drill bit is that it can be used for a longer time. It will eventually wear out or pop on you.... The way they are doing it makes it so much simpler! They just leave in the coil they wrapped and thread the wick through it. The other way, you have to wrap and install the coil every time... It is actually the installation that can be the tricky part, imo. To wrap was simple, for me! You just wrap it around.... However, you do want to make sure you get the ohms in a certain range. That is another good part of re-using the coil, you already have it at the ohms you like!
