I lack the photography skills that some of you have but I enjoy posting in this thread.

guys I was wondering if hot glue is a mark of cheap why is hana full of it? not bashing, just wondering.

Are you sure it's authentic? There are some clones that were released that are really hard to tell apart, using logos, holographic stickers, and even a chip that says Hana when fired up. Only way to tell is the spacing on the V3 is off, and copious hot glue inside

I got all of mine directly from hana in woodridge il lor hyperion their premier dealer close by. lol. I have seen many of them and they use glue when you lift the plastic shroud over the chip. even if you look at pics on the net you can see. for instance I opened my vapor flask and shark, no glue to be found. that's odd. don't know why they would do that. wires soldered to clips is odd too but I guess they have to solder them somewhere. at least they offer great, usually free service. afaik there is not even a b4s clone yet. that is why I only buy from the manufacturer or a approved dealer. for these prices you could really get screwed if you don't know who you are shopping with but I always do. it says dna 40 on the b4s not hana. I am rather confident they did not sell me a clone. I mean anything could happen but I doubt hana are shizers themselves. highly doubtful since I have 5 from them. I got variant from cigtechs and multiple provari and Darwin. they do sell clones too but afaik they are highly reputable. some mechs I admit I could have got screwed but they have to be darn good then. I doubt it but some stores with mechs and attys I did not know there reputation. it is not like I bought from fastech or alibaba! I guess anything is possible though but that would be sad.

no, I am the bad photographer. someone even got mad at me in another thread.

I've never owned an authentic Hana, but I've seen internal pics of some without a drop of hot glue... Maybe they are selling more mods then they can produce the old way?
As far as I know all Hanas have a serial number etched into the battery cover, and also somewhere in the battery compartment itself. One of the first regulated mods I got was a Hana clone.... One of the really close ones. That second serial number in the battery compartment was one of the only details they missed.... Something to check :p

And now some Atty love for our Regulated Boxes ;)

I love how they're using the KF4 drip tip on there...
This thing kinda makes me wanna get a box mod now...and I just recently saw a Billet Box in person...never wanted a box mod until then.
I've always been very thrown off by the physical aesthetics of boxes, with the exception of that small DNA Shark thing...it seemed reasonable.
But that Billet Box...? I think one of those little beauties might be coming home to roost with me!

I have the gold variant. there were only a few vicious ant made. the display is so cool behind the smoked glass. the ant on the display is killer. the only problem is the battery from hobbyking is too small mah. the hana b4s is in the same league but I could do without the screws and bb buttons.

the serials match on the hana. as I said it is highly doubtful hana themselves are pushing clones. afaik there is no b4s clone yet either. plus brass is hard to work. it is just too good. every clone anything is never perfect. there is always some telltale. even if it is hard to find. hana is big production now. maybe your right, they had to cut corners. I was happy to get a low serial but diego mersch's one is even cooler than the variant imo. he got 07 put james bond and goldfinger on it. I am not sure if it is engraved or silkscreened. I am afraid to use polish. I meant to call hana. maybe tomorrow. they answer their phone unlike a Chinese company. the sx mini is good though.

oh, can I get that drip tip by itself, where?

I think the only Hana I would want now is the brass one, but I'm afraid it would end up being an expensive paper weight :p I use my variant at home, and my zna50 when out and about. Guess it could replace my out and about back up.. The ipv mini 2 that I'm in the process of polishing up

did you see my polished and wax buffed sx mini in the sx mini thread? looks 100x better than the paint that failed from a leak. I really need the new sx mini because the dna40 kind of does not have enough oomph. I like nickel builds though.

I hope someone knows where I can get that kayfun tip. my kfl+ did not come with a tip like that. it is not a clone.

I hit all the way to 2000 grit. then polished with butchers was on the orbital polisher. it does not look good? probably my picture.

dplongo, did your hanas have hot glue on the board? I got one of the very first ones at vapebash Chicago and even that one had glue. maybe they hate me or something. I take apart any of my other mods and no glue. the b4s is sweet but I am not so keen on the screws and bb buttons. I guess that is how hana sees fit to build them. at the price they could use magnets and pushbuttons if they wanted I suppose. I think it is very cool but I am already tired of the buttons and screws. using my flask right now. which also was not perfect. came more scratched than the brass hana, button sticks. vicious ant has better qc than most. I am 99.9% sure my mods are genuine. I would not knowingly buy a rip-off of someone's work.

Hey Nic - not really, no. In fact, I was impressed by how clean they both were. I was expecting something quite different, having had a few mods by then.

I believe yours were likely were genuine because I know he was at that Vapebash you mention with more than a few units. Maybe the ones he sent to Cigtech were different? I got my first one there, then the 2nd direct from him. Both were in excellent condition (my son still uses his today, along with a few other goodies).

Mine remained in daily use until about a month ago, when I sold it to a friend, who has been using it daily since. I'm sorry your experiences were different. Given how quickly they took off (if I recall, one guy bought FIVE upon release), it's entirely possible that they weren't 100% consistent.

But he was good to me and I was very pleased dealing with him.

Build-quality wise, I've been spoiled by the two in the center of the pic I posted. I have to consciously work at not comparing things to them, or I'd be left trying nothing new. And I LIKE trying new stuff (if that's not obvious). :)

Funny, but every time I walked into a store (back when), I always walked out with Marlboro Medium. Vaping is just SO much more fun.

the two in the center are hana? maybe that is why. they are totally different than that. I did not get hanas at cigtechs. either from hana or hyperion. the receptionist will not even let you talk to him anymore. I guess they got pretty big and used glue. still very nice stuff. I am surprised the ones at vape bash were different back then and also had glue. the new one has the same serial in three places. the quality of the brass case is probably the best I have seen.

this is true. I am collecting these things. before I collected Zippos. some people don't know but rare Zippos are expensive too.
