without knowing you or your situation it's hard to give useful advice. That being said, I would stay away from vaping and also any medication used to treat anxiety.

I have dealt with anxiety my entire life. In my case it had nothing to do with an imbalance in the brain but rather a direct consequence of my life situation and outlook. Its all about getting older and learning how to truly not give a F about what others think. some people learn this early on, others take more time. I personally believe that is the key to being happy.

at your age it might be foolish to pick up an unneeded vice, but I would be a hypocrite if I said vaping doesn't help me relax...but I'm also a nicotine addict who smoked cigarettes for 15 years so...

do whatever you feel is right.

I didn't read the whole thing yet, but thanks for the link. but this right from the abstract:

"The effects of nicotine are complex however, and nicotine treatment can be either anxiolytic or anxiogenic depending on the anxiety model tested"

anxiolytic = anxiety reducing
anxiogenic = increases anxiety

I'll dig more into when the kiddos go to bed.

OP, hopefully you get the help you need. feel free to reach out if you want.
