Well I made my rounds to Radio Shack and picked up a 4xAA box with a switch for 1.99USD.
I drilled a hole(burned it with my sodering gun lol) and installed a 510 female connector. The box was really smiple to make, and gives me 6v vapping for the 510.
Now I have been vapping on a 801 atomizer for about a week or so at 6v. I have to say the 801 takes the cake at high voltage. The taste with the 510 seems to get killed a little more, and the vapor production isn't very much more over what stock batteries will do, but vapor production is a lot faster. It is a little better if you like a throat hit like I do, because the vapor is even hotter than it was before. I do like the 6v 510 BUT I would take a 801 at 6v anyday of the week now.
Compairing the 510 at 6v; I am now convinced the 801 is much better at high voltage now. You get more vapor, more taste, and the heat level is very much smoother over what the 510 will give you.
High Voltage 510
HOT
Vapor is made very quickly, and you don't have to hold the button on a man to heat it up. You switch it on, and it simply works very fast.
Taste is killed a little more.
Gives a closer feeling of smoking
Better for dipping it seems
Good throat kick
High Voltage 801
A ton of vapor
Hot, but not to hot
Taste is still very stong and not lost due to the heat increace
Dipping does not leak very badly
Killer throat kick
Carts don't feel like a Cig(kind of a issue just because of the odd tip)
