Hey guys,

Just wondering what all of your experiences were with this atomizer.. I'm having the WORST time getting this thing to work right. I read the instructions that came with the PV2 when I first got it for using the high voltage atomizer and not even that seemed to work.

I just CAN'T get the thing past tasting insanely burnt and HORRIBLE. I tried adding more juice to it since I figured it was burning up the juice pretty quickly, but with too much juice it floods it and I end up getting a mouth-full of scorching liquid, and not enough juice I get way too burnt of a taste. I can't find a proper medium between the two.. It's like an extra dip overfills it where an extra drip less isn't enough.

I tried washing the atomizer in scolding hot water THOROUGHLY for about 10 minute straight (boy was my hand tired), as well as letting it sit overnight completely and then doing a dry-burn on it in quick blasts of about a second or so for about 10 blasts. Then of course let it sit to cool down before trying again..

Nothing I can do can get this thing to work right which is a bummer because I really enjoy dripping. But at the moment, I've had to go back to my cartomizers because this thing just won't work right.

Any suggestions?

What attys are you using ? 510's / 901 / 801 ??

I'm not that big of a dripper but I've been hitting the 901's (which I really don't like) on the V2 lately.. Not having a single issue with them (except i vape too much and get a head rush). I did blow one of them out but I consider that to be normal. The last one I put in has been going strong every evening for the last week. They're just normal 901's from TW. I drip four drops, take 5 or 6 hits, drip 4 more, etc..

There is a bit of a learning curve going to these Attys, who's 901 is it , purchased from??? at 6v your gonna burn more juice and not get as many vapes as a regular 901 if your driping you also need to maybe tap your button instead of holding it down, this should help from buring up the juice and keep it really wet compared to the 3.7-5v I know what you said about the fluiding bit its a quicker vape 3 drop and maybe a total of three hits and like I said try tapping that buton, sounds like your holding down to long and running hot to me

HV-keep it wet real wet think about how hot you said it gets and what that does to the juice, to keep the flavor its gotta be wet wet wet couple drips vape couple drips vape and make sure its primed, my 2 cents, been using HV's for probably 5 month or since they first came out and every model 510-801-901 all of em need to be primed good especially the 801 and wet wet wet drip2 vape drip 2 vape again my 2 cents

Sorry dude.... missed the title

the V2 doesn't come with a HV atty. PS doesn't sell them or provide them with the V2's.

Maybe that's just a bad atty...
They may not anymore.. But mine definitely came with an HV atty. It had instructions included with it on how to properly first-use it and everything..

The problem is the wicks in the attys.... Thats the burnt taste you're getting... Nothing else inside the atty is going to burn except that piece of crap nylon string wick that is supposed to help get fluid to the atty... Rip it out with a toothpick, tweezers, paperclip, etc.

I was having the same problem until I did this to my attys and now they work fine. I can get at least 10 solid rips off my V2 after doing this before refilling. With the wicks in place you have to keep it overfilled to keep the wick from burning.

Its like holding a paper towel over a candle.. its going to burn up right away... get it wet and the water will evaporate before the paper burns... Thats the same concept with the wicks... Except you basically have to overfill the atty to keep the wick wet enough to prevent it from burning up. Thats why you just tear em out.

Apparently 3.7 volt doesn't get hot enough to burn the wicks, but 5v is another story.

There are multiple issues that can cause the burnt taste, the most common is the wicks... i think, i don't use them so i don't know. Here is my take.

1. Wick, remove it or trim it, problem solved,
2. Stuff, if you have it in your pocket or purse, you might be getting some dust or something in there that is literally burning, and tasting like, well you know, its gross.
3. liquid, certain liquid just isn't good for 5v, i won't say which, but it takes some trial and error.
4. bad atty, sometimes this is a sign of a bad atty.
5. new atty, new attys get an awkward, maybe not burnt, but awkward taste during first use.
6. dirty/old it might just be dirty, clean it, or replace it. Personally its not worth it to me to take the time to clean old/dirty atty's, i just replace them.
7. method of vaping.... simma down now, let that thing cool, especially on smaller atty's.

Hey Undead- We don't carry high voltage attys. It's a standard 901. Sounds like either you're not using enough liquid, or the atty might be bad.
Hmm.. That's really weird.. I could have sworn it was a high voltage atty. The inside silver material is a lot bigger than a normal one and it's a lot bulkier. But if Casey says so, it's gotta be true. No reason for her to lie to me, afterall she works there hahaha. :)

You guys talk about pulling the "wick" out of the attys.. Is this the part you're talking about? (Picture is in attachments -- sorry for the horrible quality picture, I had to desaturate it a LOT to try and show the inside of the atomizer)

Is it that metal rounded piece that comes up on the inside of the atty that you drip liquid onto? If I remove that, won't the liquid just drip straight down into the burning part of the atty and mess it up??

Thanks!

The wick is actually a bit of material inside the coil part. The larger metal rounded piece (looks kinda like small steel wool) is what is commonly called the bridge.

Can you see it when looking down into the atomizer? How is one to pull this stuff out? I've never heard of anything like this......

Sounds like one of the *other* brand attys. Joye 510s and the DSE 901s don't have the big metal washer, the *other* ones do, unless the DSE 901s have been changed.
