Higher mah batteries for prodigy v3?

I haven't seen any (that's not to say they don't exist, just they are not easy to find if they are out there). The generic 17335 3v batteries you can get (in a green wrapper) are rated at 1000 mAh (and they do from my experience last longer than the Tenergy yellow batteries), but they are unprotected li-ion. They're a bit wider than the Tenergy's.

The Lifepo4 batteries are inherently safer but have a lower energy density than li-ion. There's a few in this size rated around 500 mAh, including the AW lifepo4's. I am interested in giving these a try - they are rated for a much higher discharge rate so might well perform better than the Tenergy's despite the lower capacity. Carry some spares if needed.

Another way to go could be 3.7v with LR atty's (Cisco LR306 seems the favourite). The 17670 will last longer than a pair of RCR123's.
