My go to device is mvp 2 with protanks, I also have a couple of mech mods that fit a single 18650 battery. I feel partial to the reg. for safety reasons, and that the battery life seems better... My mvp will give me a couple of days, while by the end of the day my mech mods are declining in vapor production, and I feel the need to charge them every night. I'd like to get into dripping, rebuilding and maybe sub ohming, and am looking for a regulated device that is under $100, could hold a charge for a couple of days, and I don't have to mess around with charging batteries, other than the mod itself? I know there must be some good options out there...
Thanks in advance!

The potential issue is: sub-ohm vaping uses more battery current than standard resistance vaping, so battery time is going to be less than what you are used to no matter what you decide upon.

Makes more sense to me to use a regulated mod which uses replaceable batteries than internal non-removeable batteries. You can have spare batteries charged and ready to use when they drain down. Also makes sense for the overall life expectancy of the mod. Internal battery mods become paperweights when the battery dies of old age. External battery mods just need new batteries.

A relatively new mod out now is the Eleaf iStick 100w. It uses two replaceable 18650 batteries. It does have onboard charging but many here advise against charging 18650s with built in charging.

The 100w hasn't been around long enough to get an idea about it's durability or safety. It's reasonably priced but you would need to buy batteries and probably a charger.

I see the advise being given, but have yet to see the reasoning as to why the Chinese circuitry in the istick's would not perform as well as the Chinese circuitry in the battery chargers.

All I can say is it seems to be well vented, lol, still waiting for batteries.

I really don't either. I'm just repeating what I read here.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

@Baditude & @Dextrose

Ah, yea, that really does seem more practical, my laziness compelled me to ask, lol. So as far as external batteries, but still regulated, any good suggestions? In my price range?

@gandymarsh & @disallowedword

I've heard of the Istick, but hadn't really checked it out. I heard a couple of bad stories about the 50w I think. It's something Ill have to look into though, I didn't know they made a higher wattage.

They also have a 60w with temperature control. It's a single replaceable 18650.

Yeah I really don't know how this istick 100w will do, I haven’t seen many reviews but figured for the price I better try it out lol, still have the istick 30w for backup.

@Cassiel i personaly use a sigelei 150w have never had any issues with it very reliable, also another one that i know quite a few people have and realy like is the ipv4.
I looked at those, and if looks mattered in my application that is the one I would purchased, the sigelei 150w are definitely a much better looking mod than the istick 100!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I'm loving the options, but it's also a pain because I'm so indecisive! I really love the look of the sigelei 150, but whatever I get would be what I'd be using most of the time, and I'd be afraid to misplace it. I'm kind of eyeballing the sigelei 75w now.. I think I might get it, and if I love it, I'll get the 150 but use the 75 as my out and about. Thanks again!

Eleaf 100w is a good starter level high wattage mod for dripperz that wont break the bank

I would definitely suggest the IPV3 Li. I've got both that and the IPV D2 and the D2 just doesn't pack nearly as much of a good punch which if you're doing rebuildables eventually and subbing. Worth noting the IPV D2 temperature sensing doesn't work nearly as well either but I love my IPV3. You can get 4 LG HE2 18650s for under 25 on amazon and I've found them to have pretty decent life too.
