Thanks. I have a feeling I should have found that in my own but I'm still having a bit of a hard time knowing where to look or what to type in for a search.

We pool our resources to get each other the best vape, no problemo.. Their batts are commonly thought of as good, no old, used, relabeled, there at hobbyking..

I'm actually unsure of the exact depth of it because I haven't opened it yet and I don't know how thick the front and back are. It measured 20mm, so I thought I'd go with 17, just to be safe. It's the first generation iPod, released in 2001. I chose this because it's a classic, and it's thick as hell compared to all the other models.

Without taking the thickness of the walls of the unit, the measurements are:

20x63x104 (mm)

I've been meaning to take a look at how much room I need for the DNA 30 chip (I have the sheet, I just haven't gotten to it). I know it's not the greatest choice, but this is really what got me wanting to make a DNA mod. I like the box mods and everything, but I wanted to make one out of something more meaningful than a box.

I was hoping this would work but I don't know if there will be enough room left over for everything else: Turnigy 4000mAh Spektrum DX8 Intelligent Transmitter Pack.

Oh, I also want the buttons for firing and adjusting wattage up and down to go to the center buttons and the two buttons on the left and right. Would this also save room since I wouldn't have any switches? I'm still not sure it's even possible to do this with the iPod since I haven't opened it yet.

That is a low drain battery for a transmitter, max 2C. Not really suitable for a DNA30....
Since that battery is 2 cells in series you would have to break them apart and resolder them in parallel to have the 3.7v for the DNA30. Not recommended if you do not know what you are doing. Better to look for single cell that will fit and a high drain battery.

I knew it was too good to be true.

Something like this
Turnigy nano-tech 1200mah 1S 15C Round Lipo

Or like this
Turnigy 1000mAh 1S 20C Lipoly (Single Cell)

Two of them in paralel would give you either 2400mh with the round lipos or 2000mah with the flat lipos. I think that's about all you might be able to fit with the board, switches, 510 connecter, charging board, and wires.

edit: I think the round lipos would be the best bet. You could put one on each side of the bard. May allow for a little more space to work with.

Do you think this would work? https://www.hobbyking.com/mobile/viewproduct.asp?idproduct=18559

Also, for the record, the dimensions are 17x61x100.

I'll look into the ones you posted too!

Forgot Bout the connection. I think there's another one just like it but shorter. I don't remember what the mah was though. Now that I think about it, I also need to factor in the cheating device. I saw that I can order it with the Chip but I didn't see anywhere I could order it. I'm assuming I can order it during check out but I would love to know how much it is ahead of time.

I was also thinking that maybe if I shaved the inside of the cover, I might be able to fit a dual battery holder. I'm pretty concerned at this point that I'm not going to be at all satisfied with the battery life I'm going to get.

I think you meant charging board correct? And I beleave they are $5-7. I can't remember exactly, but it's in that range. You can find one cheaper on ebay - 2pcs 1A Lithium Battery Charging Board 5V Micro USB Charger Module | eBay Plus the ones on bear are 1A opposed to the evolv which are 500ma. The difference between the two, is that the 1A charges faster but the evolv is smaller. And as far as the lipo batteries there are two smaller ones, one is 1000mah and the other is 750mah. I think the other smaller ones they have won't be sufficient for the dna30.
