Yeah, but I had the stainless steel ones. Couldn't take them apart to burn the wicking and wasn't going to order anymore because i don't think my cartos should need to be that much effort to get working properly. I read somewhere that the nastiness was some kind of anti-bacterial spray used during mfg process that was getting onto the wicking and thats why burning it off works.

Had a question about the Vortex's... 1.2ML makes me think they are probably jumbo size cartos... I mean will they fit in my standard 808 PCC slots do you think or are they longer than the regular size cartos?

From Rev 5. on, or X in Clearo/Fluxomizers, they don't use that chem anymore. I vape them right out of the box.

Even so, the metal ones comes apart easily. Put it on a good solid battery. Hold it so you can press your thumb against the carto. Press with a lbd or so of pressure, turn the whole PV 1/4 turn, press again. Repeat (it doesn't take a whole lot of force). Keep doing this and pretty soon the sleeve will pop right off the base. Be careful when removing the sleeve the rest of the way...you don't want to pull the whole cup off the little metal rod, and if that seal in the top is too tight...it can sure do this. To prevent that..I lubricate the ring in the top with a drop or two of juice before trying to pull one of these apart.

Metal CE2s don't have the little rubber gasket in the bottom...so when you put them back together they 'might' leak with really thin juices. To prevent this, just run a bit of flour/corn-starch paste around it, or give it a wrap with some plumber's teflon tape, then put it back together. I've even done it with a bead of super glue (works but not as easy as the others because it drys really fast).

On Vortex capacity...if you pop off the little rubber mouth-piece and use your own flat plug, they're only slightly longer than a regular KR808D-1 carto...not quite a dime's thickness. They are slightly bigger around. There's a good chance it will fit in your PCC...definately with only one or no condom on it (vortex does NOT come with condoms). I don't own a PCC so can't confirm this.

Thanks for the excellent guide but I did exactly that with trying to get the those steel ones apart. Watched a youtube video of a guy doing it even and these things would not budge. I almost broke a batt doing it, well I did break it a little but I fixed it. That's when I got ticked and into the box of shame those things went. Sure I could have picked up some clear ones maybe and tried again but honestly I just didn't want to buy anything that was going to be that much work.

Well, you guys are slowly convincing me to revisit them I guess. Oh and thanks for the description of the vortex. I guess I'll pick up a pack of each then. Any other vendors got the rev. 5 ce2's and these Vortex's yet?

I have the Vortex and they will not fit in the PCC with the cap on and if they did i would not put them in my PCC they do leak, they need to come up with a better cap but read somewhere about moving the middle tube around to stop the leak. going to test that next put cap sucks on it.

A buddy of mine ordered some Vortex as a test and he hates them. Had nasty taste which he thought was a wicking issue, took em apart to doctor it, then he said it got somewhat better but they started leaking after that.

OK after messing with the vortex and the problems I have had. I took them all apart and rebuilt them and now I don't want to use anything else they are grate.
I put the on the battery and very carefully took the outer tube off than the inner tube off down to the atty part. I clean them the same way by dropping the atty part in some vodka than doing dry burns till i get just red coils again and it like new. I fluff the wick some and put the inner tube back on but not all the way down leaving just a tinny bit of space so the wick does not get totally pinched and that did away with any burning issues for me. I got some of the Teflon plumbers tape and used that around the part the outer tube fits on and this stopped all the leaks. I also cut about 1/8 off the top plug so it wasn't so top heavy and now it not so easy to knock it off or fall out (kinda looks like my Bloog max fusion tips now). They are working grate now and just would like to see a tighter top cap.
I don't know if it would be cost affective to manufacture but, what i think they should do is place a permanent metal thread in side the bottom of the outer tube so u can screw it down onto the atty to seal it when you want for easy access. That would be perfect, and a good top cap. Other than that I love them now that i had time to mod them.
