Hilarious Battery

I was going to post this in the moders forum but it's just too silly to put it there.

I turned a friend on to vaping last night. After just a couple of hours he couldn't manage to smoke an analog again. I had to leave my kit with him. It was necessary (that's another story entirely. It was so delightful to see a really good friend of mine go from skeptical to raving in minutes. "I LOVE this. This is BRILLIANT." etc etc. He simply couldn't stop going on and on about it.)

So I get home tonight and while not jonzin' for some nic, thought it'd be nice to have a little vape. Fast forward to now. The hilarious part. I should post a picture. I have a spare atty and card wrapped in a rubber band to two duracell AA batteries with a few pieces of tin foil to complete the circuit. While only 3 volts I'm puffing away quite successfully on some JC Simply Strawberry. It's hard to do it without laughing at myself. It's HILARIOUS (Maybe I was jonzin' just a bit lol).

That is a pretty funny mental image. I guess necessity truly is the mother of invention. BTW, that must have been a very good friend, for you to leave them your whole kit like that.
One more thing. If you can somehow squeeze one more AA battery in there, along with the other 2, you'll get a pretty good vape outta that bad boy. :D

Yeah he's one of my best friends.

One step ahead of you. I pulled an additional AA out of my wii remote and rigged it up. Vaped great but with literally one broken elastic band in my house, and no other fasteners, keeping the connections true was a pain (no pic of that one). Here's a pic of the 2AAs. As I said. Hilarious. Perhaps ridiculous is better. Anyway here it is. It's hard to see how the atty is connected. The right battery connects to the outside threads of the atty and the left one has a little piece of foil that is bending around the back of them both and contacts the middle of the atty. I had to hold the left connector on to the battery while pushing the center connector into the atty. It looks like an explosive device or some kind of prison junkie's rig.

This just made me giggle; it reminded me of my childhood "science projects" where I'd just play around with batteries, aluminum foil and LEDs salvaged from my father's electronics junk drawer. I commend you on both your ingenuity and generosity. :)

The husband won't let me steal the batteries from the tv remote (seeing as he's presently watching tv), but I do have an extra 9v battery here somewhere. Think it'll fry my atty?
