I believe it was Pet Smart. Actually she was younger than me, and almost kind of hitting on me. She kept talking about her elaborate aquarium setup at home, and was hinting that I could come by and check it out if I had any questions. In retrospect it was funny, because she had a fish shirt on, and fish earrings and was bubbling on and on about it. She kept trying to ask me about my setup, and I kept avoiding it.

That was pre-Darwin for me, so it was big-batt 510 stuff. That's still different enough to elicit alarm from many people.

You missed the entire "Cartridge mods Era" which preceded dripping for the most part...
Cartridge Mods - Page 19

In the beginning there were cartridges, stuffed with polyfill that didn't wick well enough to suit most of us.
So we all started trying to find the holy grail of materials that could be used to replace the polyfill in our cartridges.

Dripping was a reaction to these same issues, and was invented by people tired of experimenting with different filler materials.

Also, towards the end of the "Cartridge mods Era" the first fillerless modifications were being developed.

Good old times of the tea bag cartridge mods :)
