Hmm what did I just do to my 510 atomizer?

OK um I was cleaning one of my 510 atomizers soaking it in hot white vinegar and rinsing with hot water and let dry, but I noticed some fibers were sticking out from it, so I took a tweezer and grabbed it and pulled it out, then more were sticking out so more came out, what is this fiber? They're not like polyfill fibers, they're like short twisted white fibers with some nic juice stains. Now it still works, but got a slight burnt taste, but before I cleaned it it was giving burnt taste anyways. I don't see this fiber sticking out in my other atomizer. Did I just do something bad by pulling them out?

You just removed the wick. That's bad.

Your atomizer may not work again. The wick (whiteish fibers) are what carry the e-juice from the metal mesh to the atomizer coil.

Don't feel too bad, if you didn't remove all of it, it may still work. And this is a common mistake.

Oh doh! Well it seems to be working still, but after 3-4 hits, I get a very slight burnt taste, is that safe?

You've probably got another piece of the wick against the bridge ... take a look with a flashlight and get it out of there 'cause that taste will only get worse if that's what's going on.

Oh, and btw, when I still used my 510, I removed all of the wick in a couple of my atties, was not a 'dripper' and still was quite satisfied with the atty. It may break some to remove the wick ... but that was not my personal experience.

i just did the same thing with my atty... but thanks to this forum (and google search) kept on vaping and actually like it waaay better! The vapor production on the juices I use is much better (I use sugary stuff like almond joy and cucumbermelon from freedomsmokes). I am going to take the filter fiber material out of my other attys if this keeps up! I have been fighting my e-cig for 6 months - half smoking analog and half smoking electronic. i gotta keep my cart really wet without the fibers, but I get an awesome th and vapor like never before (just switched to the joye 510 a couple months ago). I am seriously glad I stumbled upon doing this! no analogs since I took the fibers out by accident!
