I'd like to preface this post by stating that I've had issues in the past with my voice box that included pain and hoarseness. Sooooo I don't know if this issue is specific to me or if it's a vapors typical experience. I've gotten pretty hoarse since I began vaping and I have a constant need to clear my throat. Typically when my issue is flaring up there is quite a bit of pain/voice changing involved but this is just hoarseness with no pain, and the clearing of the throat. Is this typical for a vaper? I admit the timing could be co-incidence but I can't help but wonder. I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.

I think this is probably typical and could be either (or a combination of) your body changing from lack of analogs (assuming you've quit them), introduction of PG and/or VG and / or dehydration.
The hoarseness has been happening to me in short spells too. I was experiencing it this morning but I'm fine now. No pain associated, thankfully!

Sometimes my voice get kinda wonky vaping does dry us out.
Drink water fluids, I don't have any pain though.
I do clear my throught though maybe less then when I smoked,
but now at least when I clear my throat stuff comes up
unlike when I smoked everything was dried up so nothing moved.
I use all VG also good luck. Give not smoking some time, and of
course go to your doc. I know a lot of things atopped when I quit smoking

Yes I have had this. It is relatively common. What I would recommend is trying different kinds of juices. I have noticed that PG makes my voice more harsh then VG. But of course I like a good TH so I look for a good balance. So, I recommend.

1. Hydrate! Drink plenty of water!
2. Try different types of VG/PG blends
3. Pay attention to what causes it because you might have an allergy to something

This one kinda puzzled me when I switched. My voice overall kinda developed a "hoarse" sorta tone to it. It's consistent. But it does make me wonder what this change is all about, in context of what 30 years of smoking did to my vocal cords. But as a new vaper you do have to watch that you are drinking enough fluids. If the hoarse sound it combined with a bit of a scratchy feeling at the back of the throat and a reflexive impulse to cough, chances are you aren't drinking enough fluids.

So glad it's not just me! I was getting a little worried that my issue was coming back after having been gone for over a year. I did quit analogs, Friday will be two weeks! I did figure that the hoarseness was most likely due to the combo of quitting and vaping but was feeling nervous about it. Thanks for the reassurance!

As a singer I've learned that the act of clearing your throat causes stress on the vocal cords. That stress causes hoarseness. Being hydrated will help ease some of the problems. It's better to actually cough than it is to clear the throat. Another little tidbit, whispering is worse for your vocal cords than you would think. It takes more effort to whisper than to actually talk softly.

How many people just tried whispering and talking softly? ;)
Feel how the throat had to work harder?
