I am of the belief that how you take a drag can have an effect.

Are you a "straight to the lung" inhaler (which is typical for most ex-cigarette smokers) or are you an "draw into your mouth, hold for a moment to savor the taste, and then either inhale or nose-expel" (which is more of a cigar smoker's routine)?

If after gettting the 18mg and it doesn't go away, definitely go to the doctor.

Nic is harsh on the throat. I started at 24 and dropped quickly down to 18mg after completely giving up the cigs. As I got used to the lower nic, I would know when it was time to drop the level by the way it feels on my throat and tongue. I dropped to 15mg then 12mg and now I'm down to 9mg.

Hope you feel better :)

I never really thought about it but I guess I " take a deep drag and inhale to the lung". My throat and tongue are definitely feeling the effects since I started vaping. My taste buds are shot! I tried just drinking water but it didn't make a difference at all to my tongue.

I can't taste much at all anymore, I've tried Biotene gum, cinnamon gum but nothing seems to help. I was so looking forward to my taste buds coming alive after I stopped smoking :(

Hopefully dropping down the nicotine will help.

I had irritation in my throat that was from a certain e juice, it went away a day after i stopped using it. Additionally I had a very uncomfortable sensation that was from involuntarily tensing muscles in my throat that i had no idea how to control. I smoked 1.5 packs of full flavor Marlboro's for 20 yrs and quit smoking the first moment i tried vaping so tend to blame that as a withdrawal symptom. That went away gradually after about 3 weeks.

What's the PG/VG ratio that you're vaping?

I agree that not inhaling into the lungs can help and that you may need less nic. It could be just one of these things or all of them. Unfortunately, the only way you're really going to know is to experiment. Eventually you'll find your sweet spot. :)

Your sense of taste will come back... Its just vapers tounge... Vape some juices with a mild flavor (or none) for a few days and drink alot of water... Some people says that helps

I first noticed the hoarseness last week after trying Boba's Bounty for the first time. I have been vaping caramel, vanilla and vanilla ice cream flavors. I have never liked menthol so I know it can't be that.

I've had vapers tongue for about 2 months, I thought it would have cleared up by now. The juice I order is usually a 50/50 blend.

Top of throat or deeper down? If deeper, try not inhaling to the lung for a couple of days. Stop you inhale at the top of your throat then exhale nose and/or mouth. Watch some videos of vets like P Busardo vaping. They seldom lung inhale. I had to get used to it but enjoy it much more now than lung inhaling and like the idea better too. Also, if you haven't done so already lower your voltage at least until your throat issue is cleared up. If you recently bumped up your voltage that could be the cause of a sore throat right there.

My vaping style? What is the correct way to vape?

Well, technically there's no "correct" way to vape except the one that works for you...but for many people, taking the vapor into your mouth (not inhaling deeply/inhaling into the lungs), holding it there for a second and then letting it out works very well. You don't need to take nic vapor into the lungs to get the nic, it enters through the mucous membranes (AFAIK). We just tend to start out inhaling deeply because that's the way we did it with analogs.

Think of it as smoking a cigar v. smoking a cigarette. And by the way, you get HELLA flavor this way (mouth only). You really taste your flavor.
