When I started I was at 1/2 PAD too. I thought a few times that when I made the switch to ecigs I would reduce my nic down to 0, but not that I would quit smoking/vaping entirely. I loved the flavors and the sensory experience of vaping too much to give that up, and I still haven't gone to 0 nic. I'm at 8mg nic now, and the only reason I'm on that is because I'm using gennys and a Fatty v2 -- before that I was on 18mg, been vaping for almost 4 years.

3 posts and you're insulting the vaping community?

"High dollar (OTHER ITEM) "? People with money don't use (OTHER STUFF), if they did they wouldn't have money very long.

Seems kinda harsh L1V1. But when I read the original post by Steamgolem I thought the "other item" he was referencing was an ...a-hem....adult...um...toy? Okay. So my mind skittered off in the gutter again. But it did make me laugh!!!

I bought what hopefully is going to be my last pack of analogs today ($10 Blu disposables/day isn't cutting it), tomorrow when I get paid I'm going to invest in my first kit. I think I have a very addictive personality and haven't came close to even trying to quit analogs (10yr full time PAD smoker) until I tried an ecig. I expect that this will become a hobby for me (I'm looking forward to experimenting with DIY juices), but I am a simple guy so I'm going to stick with whatever works... I expect this will not be my means to quitting the nic and I still enjoy smoking too much.

I never wanted to quit smoking, just to quit stinking.

Well, to be perfectly clear, I should say my wife wanted me to quit stinking.
I really didn't believe that I actually did stink.

I have absolutely no fear of nicotine in moderate amounts.
In fact, I believe it is good for me in moderate amounts, just like many other things on this planet.

I started out vaping 12mg juice, and that is what I'm still vaping more than 3 years later, and what I'll be vaping 3 years from now.

As far as the hobby aspect goes, it's not for me.
I've been dripping on standard 510 atomizers for well over 3 years now.

I also got my Chucks over 3 years ago, and that was all I needed, and alll I expect to need forever more.
Well, unless you count the Ego Twist I got so I could have something more compact and pocket-friendly when needed.
:)

i went for 1-2 pad so i'm saving anywhere from $5-$10 a day... i first started because my son was born and i didn't want to hassle of washing up after everytime i smoke one... so i started vaping... then i learned of all the cool stuff you can get and do with a mod, tank, etc.. now i even DYI juice, use rebuildables and everything in between!!!

I started smoking at 16, and have gone from 4 PAD, to 2, to 1, and now I've switched from analog. I've got to agree with some of the others, I like smoking too much to let the entire experience go. I'm currently vaping 12 mg, and I'll reduce that over time to 0 nicotine, but
there are aspects that appeal to me: the idea of creating mods, juices, accessories. I enjoy the physical feel that vapor or smoke provides, and I'm not willing to let that go.
Certainly, the hobbyism aspects are enticing, and there is a great community, but I think the main goal (for me, at least) is to not die too young. :)

Funny you say this. I have what my wife calls an addictive personality, I call them hobbies lol. I have always loved tobacco. Since I started vaping about a month ago I have not touched a cig. I do still enjoy a fine hand rolled cigar once a week or so.

Call it what you will but if you are not smoking then good for you and keep it up.

I guess it depends on your personality, i make a hobby out of everything I do, I got my first Jeep a couple of years ago and made that into a hobby, and i guess the whole analog cigarette and cigars also were a hobby, I now have made vaping my main hobby and I love it. I didn't intend to stop smoking all together I was just going to "try" them but with the whole gadget, gear tech specifications and variety of flavors it sucked me in, I stopped smoking for good and I'm vaping all the time, buying gear, mixing juices, testing different equipment etc, definitely a hobby I wont leave soon.

i have had tons of hobbies simply because i enjoy the whole experience of really learning about and mastering new things.
a few years ago i decided to stop jumping around learning new things and simplify life a little. i used to spend thousands every year on my hobbies.

I'm good.keeping my vape impulses.in check. but I'm still enjoying that i can learn and experiment without buying every shiny new toy i see.
