Before I go any further I would like to say that Mike is such an AWESOME PERSON, he was very patient with me and YAY...I finally ordered my first Hog mod...

I spoke to Cherewine earlier, I had read her post in regards to Bianca...getting a loan for Hogs.
True Story:
A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I were applying for a car loan, we needed paperwork, our tax forms...from this past year, etc.
As we there applying for our car loan...the loan rep was asking us questions...and I was ALL EXCITED, not really for the car we were going to purchase, but for my Hog Mod!!!!
Like I said, she was asking us question, whether we had our insurance picked out and if there was a little extra that we would need, she was naming a little extra...like car insurance, if we knew the type of car we were wanting to purchase...
And...I wasn't really thinking...and I blurted out loud..."A Hog Mod." And...the loan rep looked at me and my husband like...a 'Hog Mod' ????
My husband and I looked at one another...if you could see our faces at that very moment, it was TOO freakin' funny!!!!
Needless to say, the loan officer was very nice and added a little extra *PLUS*
And...I was able to order my first Hog Mod...not to mention, I am ordering another Hog on the first of the month, if it's okay with Mike that is.
I just thought I'd share...

I thought that was just too weird that we were joking about getting a loan to buy hog mods...then you pm me telling me your story Terry...you HAD to share that one with everyone! Like I said...I'm happy you are able to get a hoggie and if you need help with anything...we are here for ya...just shoot us your questions

I left my "good job" at age 30 and have been self employed with my "hobbies" for the last 40 years.
May not make as much money, but the freedom to do what one enjoys doing is well worth it.
One only needs self discipline and knowing that "if this is not selling well-then try another thing".
Above all, we only have one life-you are very good at this woodworking thing- but if you choose to make BBQ's also or in place of etc etc-go for it !!!!!!!

Funny you mention that. Mike uses a wood for the stake sides, of the trailers he builds. It's called "apitong". I can never remember the name of it so, when referring to it, I call it "rama-lama-ding-dong" wood.
Also, when it comes to screwdriver's, they are either "plus" or "minus". I don't know much about tools and stuff! Haha, and you wonder why, I'm not allowed to help with the building of the mods!

I have been solo-most of my life, have not had insurance for 40 years and have not needed it either. Saved the money that insurance would cost and it sits in CD's making money for me. On the only two times I have had to go to a doctor , they charged HALF what they would have charged an insurance company, because I paid cash. . Unbelievable but is true.

It's actually Mike's union that costs so much for insurance. I will admit though, we have some of the best coverage in the nation. Unfortunately, we can't be without it. I have had way too many health problems to go without. I've been on deaths door, more times than I care to admit. We have a 1mil lifetime maximum and at 35, I'm real damn close to my cap! Not sure what we are Gonna do. With preexisting health problems, no one in their right mind is going to touch me.

So very sorry for you and hope things will get better healthwise for you. If Obama's health care plan goes through, it won't let pre-existing conditions get in the way of insurance. The only good thing about his health plan but it would help you.
Insurance would not cover me after cancer in my twenties- so was another reason I refuse to pay insurance companies a damn penny ever again. The old hippy part of me can be rather radical sometimes.

Ok got a little preview of some mods for some people, I dont have pics of combos that have been done before like QS oak and black palm, also I did not get the inlays cut up yet for the rosewood
or the inlays cut up for the curly maple, so the Kingwood one is just a light inlay laid across it to get the idea.

No, no, you didn't upset me at all! I do get frustrated on the topic. Just because its so dang expensive and, we are stuck! Even with insurance, we have credit collectors calling all the time. I tell them "well you want money and, my kids need food. Who do you think gets to take a number and stand in line?" I'm sure they don't like me! Lol
