You won't be disappointed snails ;) Now that you'll have your first one, the wait on your next (oh, it WILL happen!!) won't be so stressful, lol.

It would be so easy to refrain if Mike only carried a handful of wood selections, but every time he's ready to take new requests, he up and goes to that darned wood store again, lol. Just when I think I'm done buying...here he comes with a new batch of BEAUTIFUL woods to choose from, lol

your not crazy Mike. You just miss me.
It's ok. I know it's tough to admit, but we know the truth.

Well right now the whole garage is filled with boxes from one of the 3 storages.
I still have to go empty the other 2 units and then sort through everything to sell it off. I'm not dragging everything across the country. It's mainly just my tools and Amy's xmas stuff going.
Soon as I get everything sorted and gone through its time to save up for the move. Will take a few months I think to get the funds together, so I will be making mods for awhile here and before I mode I plan on having a lot of bodies rough cut so there is no delay when I move.

It's funny, most people I know think I have lost my mind for even thinking about walking away from everything and moving half way across the country.
lol maybe I have

LOL...I THOUGHT it's style looked familiar! It's VERY KEWL looking Mike. :thumb:
Over 2k for a wood cutting machine?? Will this be BEFORE or AFTER the move? lol. Oh, I can only imagine what all you could do with one of those...it better be able to do A LOT for that kind of money tho! Can you imagine how much faster you could put out Hog mods using one of those things? I know Brian has said in his thread that the difference is like day and night in putting stuff out once ya figure out how to use it ;)

I'm going to have the engineer at work teach me how. he said its fairly easy once ya get it down. I already have the basics of Autocad down so I don't think it will be to tough

Mike..question...Is there anything I can put on panels of my hog so that I can get it apart easier? I'm having one hellava hard time getting this thing open, lol. Also...*whispers* this thing smells like fish inside  Must be that teak oil huh?

Humidity high there? If you have some fine sand paper you can gently sand the inside edge of the door untill it slides on and off better.
I try to make them so they don't have to rely on the magnets to hold the doors on and after some use the wood wears down so they get more lose. I might have made that one a little snug.
I cant remember if yours got the teak oil inside or the new stuff I have. Bocote has its own unique smell as well. I know I received one Canary wood mod back to change out faulty switch and was told it had an odor inside but all i could smell was the natural smell of the canary wood, which isn't to pleasant in my opinion.
I am now using a food safe, no odor mineral oil/carnuba wax/beeswax on the insides of the Mods. So in the future the only smell you should smell is the wood itself.

Let it air out a bit Cherewine, I didn't notice a smell like that but some are more sensitive to odors than others

Hummm, my canarywood hog never had any kind of smell to it. This one does, but it's not overpowering or anything...I just happened to catch a wiff of it once or twice and hadda laugh to myself (thought...Mike take this thing fishing or sumptin?) I know that when I first got one other Hog mod, the door was really tight fitting, but nothing like this one. Now, I'm not saying that like its a bad thing, don't get me wrong...just that by the time it loosens up, I won't have any finner nails left, lol. I thought about trying maybe rubbing a bit of soap along the edges? Think that might help? I don't want to sand anything cuz' with MY luck..I'd sand too much and booger the thing up!

I'd try the soap thing before attempting sanding .. can't hurt ... just pick a good smelling soap :p
