Perhaps they should change the name from "Track and Confirm" then. :2cool:
USPS - Track & Confirm

You can get a Tracking Number when You ship something. You can go much cheaper and get Delivery Confirmation when you ship something. Rather than having the added expense, and multiplying the possibilities of mistakes, of keeping two compleatly different computerized scanning and database systems at every post office just to track what is essentially two different levels of the same service, they have one scanner and database system. It is called "Track and Confirm" because it handles both Tracking Numbers and Delivery Confirmation.

And just how would changing one of the few accurate names for a service actually do, anyway?

:)

First off..B, I sure hope you're not letting Liv drink coffee yet, altho yes, that would be your child!

Mainly, Wilbur finally got unwrapped and initiated this morning (pics in album). All I can say is I'm happier than a pig in :censored: ! Mike, this one is absolutely :censored: gorgeous! It's so :censored: pretty it was almost hard to fire it up. But OMG, this thing :censored: rocks and kicks some serious :censored: ! The screwdriver and how you mounted it are such a masterful touch too. I wish I'd ordered a volt indicator sooner; holding the meter leads on the connector, pressing the fire button, and adjusting the regulator at the same time should qualify one for America's Got Talent. I've got it at 6v unloaded with a 2.5 ohm Boge atty now, and as one of my Texan friends said, it hits like a :censored: freight train! Spot on, Hogfather...you are truly a :censored: genious :D

Yeah, I'm well aware of the shipping options. I deal with all of the logistical solutions we have to choose from in this country. I ship items with most of them several times each week. The only way to get true USPS's "Tracking" is with Express Mail. My original comment was intended to be quasi-facetious. Considering that around 25% of my orders take much longer than 5-7 days (even when choosing Priority Mail) to arrive I have little faith left in the USPS. They are consistantly inconsistant IMO. YMMV

That's getting to the heart of the matter. "Delivery Confirmation" only "confirms delivery" but they explicitly decline to confirm delivery to the address on the package. "Priority Mail" gives you the service that used to be called "First Class"--First Class is now Third Class, which is now Media Mail. Express Mail at least gets "Priority," but "Overnight" is not considered late unless it's been three days--and that only to the places they actually say will be delivered overnight. That's why I said "Track and Confirm" is one of the few services that's accurately named.

But for all that, the USPS (at least around here) is still faster, more accurate and much, much cheaper than UPS or FedEx.

So Mike...buddy...compadre...a quick (ok, exhaustive) scan of the last 4256 posts shows that no one has asked about a mini Hog in about 3 months. At the risk of being de-threaded, have you considered it any further? I now have a normal-sized 3.7v standard and a handful o'wood VV and love them both, but I have some money left and the stable's not complete without the pony. Not to mention that I'll soon have an awful lot of 14500 batteries with nothing to run them in. Other than different switches I don't see any other challenges if you went with the earlier black catch cups, FWIW. You'd have to call it the Piglet, ya know...just sayin' :D
