i am in scotland and eagerly awaiting delivery of my first e cig.It is beginning to take off here, been on a few daytime shows on tv. I have been off cigs for a week now and am obsessing about this ecig. When i saw this site i realised this device could be helpful in the short term( although it will make it harder to get off the whole smoking thing).
However, having read lots of posts it seems to me we are all rushing blindly to inhale this stuff. Is it tested scientifically? I havent read anything convincing. Sorry guys. And with the poor service from the sellers and makers, i have increased doubts about the quality of many e cigs.
I still cant wait to try it out , it should arrive tomorrow. But at the moment i look fwd to a satisfying smoke which is scientifically harmless, even no nicotine. What a dreamer. We are the guinea pigs at the moment, of that i have no doubt. Just please be mindful of that if u smoke this thing 5hrs a day.
Oh and god bless america ;)

That is the honest truth, we are the guinea pigs with ecigs. Only time will tell the damage we may be causing to ourselves, but if you compare ecigs to regular tobacco cigs. Worth the try IMO. No inhaling of vapor/smoke of anykind is by no doubt the best way to go, but given the way we humans are all ADDICTED to something it may be a start to better ourselves as far as smoking.

Let us know what you think of your Ecig and experience. Thanks

I agree we should not over do it. But if it makes you feel better ,you can actually smoke it without inhaling (or inhaling every other puff),and if you find a taste that you like it can be very satisfying. I like flue cured flavor very much.Good luck.

Yes!
You can smoke without inhaling, you will get your nicotine fix.

Same when you use the nicotine patch, you'll receive nicotine through your skin, or with the nicotine gum.

Now when you take a puff on your e-cig the nicotine will get in your body through your tongue, cheeks and nose, if you just let the "smoke" directly go from mouth to nose.

Your body will absorb the nicotine without inhaling.

thanks for the replies.
I am heavily on nrt, nasal spray, microtabs, inhalator, u name it. I put mustard on it and eat it. But it is not satisfying.
Does anyone have advice about what brands should be avoided? They seem to fall apart i read. The epipe also attracts me for some odd reason.
My main point was that everyone assumes that it is virtually harmless and i hope that is true, but we dont in all honesty know. Still, im looking fwd to it arriving, my curiosity is huge.

Personally I feel the e-smoking is "better" than smoking tobacco. I absolutely do feel better, look better, smell better, have better breath and sleep better. I also know I use the e-cig less than regular cigarettes and thus receive less nicotine as a whole.

BUT - I also accept responsibility for knowing, that I do not know, the whole story or know the long term effects of e-smoking.
However, with the years I have struggled with quiting smoking, the definite and evident mal effects of smoking cigarettes on my health, I will take that perception of "better" health.

Right now, given that I am smoking less in whole, I feel more hopeful that I can quit in the future. Or at the minimum, I can further lower my intake of nicotine. That little bit of hope is far more than I have had in regards to quiting - ever.
