Go to a gun range late on a Saturday. The trash cans near the firing line will be packed full of them. Bring your own safety glasses and hearing protection and you can probably walk right in there and get what you want without renting a lane unless you just need some practice :)

Getting some practice wouldn't be such a bad idea. I'm definitely not lacking in experience with firearms (former Army girl) and I actually liked going to the firing range when I was active duty.

Has any thought of something good to hold cartridges while refilling them? Right now I use a box I poked holes in but I would like something a little more presentable. My husbands foam that holds rifle shells would be perfect but he won't let lose of any. Anyone know where to buy just the holders without the shells? Or any better ideas?

I just use my fingers to hold cartomizers while I refill them.

At first I thought the same thing. On the other hand, I like to fill a few in one sitting since it's a pita to get the syringe out for my mega cartos. Then while doing that, I have to stay on point with the paper towels to avoid a mess. Even then, I'm only doing 3 or 4 so I get where you're coming from. However, I understand some people that use smaller cig-sized cartos fill dozens at a time like that.

Something like a bullet box would really centralize the mess and make a production line approach work a lot better. You still have to handle them a little bit, but at least they wouldn't be rolling off the table and getting fluid everywhere or rolling under furniture or something. Plus make it a little easier to keep up with where you're at with filling them.

I have some E2 and some mega cartos for my eGo. I'll have to save a .380 tray for my E2s on my next trip to the range and try to garbage pick a .45 tray for my mega cartos if they're too big for one of my .40 S&W trays :)

Well, Laura asked for something good to hold while she refills cartridges. Yes, I hold the cartomizer while refilling it (and I used to refill several at the same time using the condom method and then had to spend time removing the excess juice and cleaning up the mess). Then after each one was refilled, I would place it in one of the holes I had drilled in this piece of wood (that I mentioned in a prior msg in this thread).

But, in the last week or so, when I go to get another carto, I'll refill the one that's empty at that time and place it in a hole in the piece of wood. Then I don't have to spend a lot of time refilling a bunch at once and cleaning up a mess. It only takes a few seconds to drip about 14 to 16 drops into the filler inside an almost empty carto. This new method has worked much better for me and has saved a lot of time and messes.

When I was still using carts my fingers seemed to work just fine but then I wasn't in search of asembly line efficiency. KISS.

Good ideas! I like that one about taking some hardwood and drilling holes into it. Since I use carts with the inner carts and refill with a syringe, I end up pushing the inner cart down when slipping it past the blue foam. Maybe I can rig it and put some penny nails in the holes so that it will push the inner carts to the right height and then go down the row with a syringe (patent pending :) ).

Fingers do work - I thought it was funny - I didn't take anything bad out of your original comment. But I am assembly line type. Now - it work if I run out of carts I do use the finger method....LOL
