Home made penstyle atty

The step-by-step will be much appreciated. And hey, if you decided to sell 'em, we'll probably buy at least a few, just because it's easier than breaking out the soldering iron.

A quick question, and forgive me if the video explained this, as this notebook can't handle youtube - are the home built atty's more durable? The wires on the ones we buy now are - er - brittle would be something of an understatement.

Again, many thanks Carlos.

Yes the HBA are very durable... so far my first one is still going strong at over three months and please believe me I have put it through alot. They work really well at higher voltage.
I want to appologize to everyone for having to wait for the step by step. I have had a medical issue and hopefully that's in the past now. I'm recovering well and should be back at it soon... very soon.
Thanks for holding on!!
Carlos

Congrats, Carlos, it's people like you who pave the way to self sufficiency which may be a vital need in the future.

As far as profit go, even after posting step by steps, there are tons of people that would want one and can't make their own. I got a mod that way, after the modder posted a step by step.

Way to go!!!!!

You guys rock!

I too am anxiously awaiting the step by step. But I don't think this would be anything more than a cottage hobby, or cottage industry, if you will.

How could we manufacture these en mass having to compete with the Chinese? There is no way we could sell these to the suppliers at 5 or 6 bucks a pop and make a profit.

I'm positive these atomizers could not be built and wholesaled for anything close to $5-6 but that really isn't the point. Ultimately, I think this is all about a rescue plan for the time (if and when) Chinese hardware is banned.

Of course, the value of such an atomizer would be considerably higher than Chinese production if they perform reliably month after month after month. Personally, I would rather pay $20 for an atomizer designed for longevity and maintainability rather than goof around with importing generic atomizers for $5.50 that may die in a day or a week or a month.

Two things to say in light of this thread/ my 2 cents;

1) Carlos, you have done an amazing job setting up a functional atomizer from scratch, if you sell them I will buy some, and when you post your step-by-step I'll be studying your design tentatively :D making sure to mention your brand of atomizers in my video and doing a complete review.

I'll gladly do any product demos for you now or in the future!!!

2) I actually LOVE seeing the marketplace within this community. It's like the freeBSD/ Linux of vaping!
No doubt everyone is just as excited as I am that once this walkthrough is posted, we can now come to ECF and learn how to make an e-cig from the ground up... Or probably just ask Carlos to do it ... for a price of course.

This thread has been very quiet lately. I can understand if Carlos decided not to post the step-by-step considering the flames that have been posted here. Honestly, I can't understand how people can be so critical over something they are 1) getting for free, and 2) wouldn't have otherwise.

Carlos, I hope your medical problems are past, and I wish you the best. Personally (and I'm sure I'm not the only one) would like to see the step-by-step if you are up to making it. Even a description would be nice, since we all agree that the atomizers we are forced to use now are most definitely not as well engineered as they could be.

Great work, and I hope to see more of it. I will continue to watch this thread.

Uhh, I would hardly consider my comments to be flames unless you're a particularly sensitive person. I'm not interested in flaming anybody, just getting impatient with what I consider to be a rather high ....-kissing to data ratio, 'cos I'm all about the data.

From what I understand though, Carlos49's been swapping out the 40ga coils in regular attys with 32ga, making them beefier and less prone to breakage, although it will be interesting to see what that does to battery life.

Thoughts, Carlos?

moktarino: I've read many of your posts, and I think you have a great deal of skill and experience that you can contribute to ECF, and are doing a great job of contributing on the glass atty thread.

I don't think anyone here is particularly sensitive, but perhaps you could consider how motivated you generally are to do volunteer work when you are very ill or in pain. I think myself and others here are just suggesting that you have a little compassion. I will ask a simple question, then I'm stepping away: How many posts to you see in this thread asking Carlos to hurry up with the step-by-step (especially after he posted that he was having medical issues), vs. how many are simply waiting patiently for him to heal and get back to his routine?

Carlos, I hope you are back to it soon. We miss your contributions.

The discussion has strayed from its initial purpose. While there is a high likelihood that this "compassion" to which you refer has high relative value to units elsewhere, it is unrelated to the acquisition of precious, precious data. Allow me to slip into the mother tongue, as this highly relevant idiom loses significant meaning in translation:

01010011011010000110111101110111001000000111010101110011001000000111010001101000011001010010000001100100011000010111010001100001001000010010000000100000010100100110111101100010011011110111010001110011001000000110000101110010011001010010000001100010011001010111010001110100011001010111001000100000011101000110100001100001011011100010000001101110011010010110111001101010011000010111001100101110

I think that combines all the relevant values of this conversation into a single, larger number, reducing the number of distracting surface features to a minimum.

As an aside, it may be advisable to report to central authority for an operational screening. Based on our interaction it is possible you may be experiencing out-of-tolerance operation as a result of improperly adjusted unique attribute settings.
