my second try at vaping. first was with those little cigarette thing that you would get 2-3 hits then burnt cotton.
now im ready to get down on building some mods.
etching some copper tube
electronics, leds voltage readouts
different battery types , LiPo,LiMn,LiFe(i know low discharge maybe some capacitors)
this is gonna be fun

any suggestions for the new builder?

First some fact finding, and planning. I am building a mechanical wooden box mod right now but I have a couple regulated ones on my work bench. Learning about the batteries is the best start, Li-Ions and high drain cells can all be very dangerous if improperly handled some can unleash nearly 20A in one short burst. Caps are not a likely solution to the high ESR of some battery types, even a decent size one will release and require a cycle too quickly to be of use and depending on your load may not even be nfeeder . Batteries with high ESR can still be useful if they have a steep discharge curve. Easier to start at a higher voltage and regulate than to boost but its probably easier to start trying your luck with mechs, better to start with something that works well than to build something that doesn't but blinks.

- Get a good multimeter
- Learn how to use it and what the readings mean
- Learn Ohm's law
- Read up on battery safety
- Don't do silly things (like building ultra-sub ohm coils when you haven't learned about battery/PV safety and all the things that can possibly go wrong if you jump in too deep without knowing what you're doing and why you're doing it).
