Hello friends.
Well Ive been put out of my misery in waiting for my e-cig.Postie arrives,I do all the right things the book says,i.e. charge it up at least 8 hours, but wow the green battery light comes on after about half hour,so off I go.........verdict a bit dissapointed:(.Oh the smoke came out ok,but so did some liquid stuff, sweet, that I had to dispose of.....yuk.So then I do the worst thing and light a "real" cig up.........URGH it tastes horrible as I can still taste the liquid so out that goes.So can you help me please?.Ive read something about "dripping" on here,is this whats happening and does it dissapear after a while after its primed so to speak. Also no vapour came out with exhaling.I really hope this is just a small hiccup after all the glowing reports Ive been giving out to my friends. Thanks for any help you can give me:thumb:

Hi Dee!

Which style of e-cig do you have? Pen style? Mini?

Dripping is something that you do deliberately, it's not supposed to put e-liquid in your mouth.

What you are describing is not supposed to happen, it sounds like your atomiser is not actually doing anything. Have you tried with the spare battery in case the first one is a dud?

I'm a little confused. Did you charge it for 8 hours or for a half hour? If it hasn't charged for at least 8 hours, back on the charger it goes! :)

Did you have a cartridge on it or just the mouthpiece? If you had put a cartridge on it AND the battery has been charged for 8 hours, remove the cartridge and put the original mouthpiece back on and puff with that. Does the LED light go on (at the end of the battery)? Does the atomizer get warm? Do you get some vapor?

Getting liquid generally means
- not enough battery power or
- incorrect puffing (too strong) or
- dead atomizer
- overfilled cartridge

The liquid you got in your mouth, you normally wouldn't have tasted it further. If that happens again don't lick it or swallow, go to a faucet and wash it off right away and rinse out your mouth.

Yeah, it's better to make sure that it's fully charged because when I get liquid in my mouth I find that it usually means that my battery needs charging/changing.

It's also worth noting that smoking an e-cig takes a little bit of getting used to, I can't explain why it's different but you can't quite drag on it like a normal cig. As Jamie says, if you drag too hard, or sometimes too fast you can get the effect that you are experiencing.

If it's still the same when it's fully charged you may have a faulty atomiser, but let us know as we can advise you further.

Hi Dee,

As well as the great advice above, just a thought.

When you use the e-cig do you have the battery end raised slightly (above horizontal)? I used to do this and it can result in liquid sliding straight into the mouthpiece and bypassing the atomiser. Yuckk

Now I always have the battery end pointing downwards so that the liquid is always being drawn towards the atomiser (hope this makes sense?).

I have also found that if the battery isn't fully screwed into the charger it will indicate charged before it really is! Careful when screwing these things in though as I've bust a few batteries by overzelous tightening...

I know this is probably a bit obvious (at least to experienced e-smokers) but did you remove the dummy mouthpiece that comes on it and replace it with a proper cartridge.

I tried smoking the dummy mouthpiece when I first got my one...oops:oops:

:D Yes I did,but saying that while the battery is charging Ive been using the dummy bit and it feels ok,maybe I shouldnt tho. Thanks to all for your advise, its greatly appreciated. Now for my confession......... Ive had about 1 and a half normal cigs,as like you say it takes getting used to,its quite alien really after a 30 odd year habit,BUT in all honesty they taste strange and I dont fancy them.I must also say I like the e-smoking sign that came with my e-cig,asking social places to put one up in the window,Ive yet to see one tho, wouldnt it be one in the eye for those that started all this "YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED STUFF".I'd like to know who these people are to tell you what you can and cant do,whatever happened to a free country and what our grand fathers fought for:mad:

So you got yours from Pillbox then? I know that I got one of those signs!

Don't worry if you've had 1 and a half normal cigs! Most people ween themselves off cigs anyway, you don't have to go cold turkey! If you normally smoke a lot more and that's all you'd had it's pretty good going to be honest!

Hey Dee

Don't sweat the occasional lapse, celebrate the fact that you're down to almost NO real fags. We have a couple of Supermen like Leaford who quit out of the box, but us mortals take a bit longer (took me about a month to switch completely).

Emp

Does that make me as Super as Leaford too!? :D
