Hi,
Thanks for the recommendations will be checking immediately. (Had to start a new thread; was away for awhile).

I think I was wrong that I was using super-minis. Maybe minis. I'm pretty sure before I chucked the whole vaping thing last summer I was using the 901. Auto switch would fire in my pocket, would overheat in my mouth. Been reading & since I dripped I think I need a sealed battery--probably also one of my problems. I think the 510 was around then not sure why I didn't try it. (Also bought a bunch of atomizers & batteries from Heaven Sent but don't know the model. As I recall good customer service. Needed to be 2 out of 4 atomizers died within a day. No hassle replacement but much rather have good products to begin with.)

I'm pretty sure what I need/want is: good vapor, good throat hit, manual switch, sealed battery, & something small enough to hang in the mouth or fit in a shirt pocket. Reliability is still the biggy. Can't shake the analogs if I can't depend on the pv.

Off to do more (groan) research. I'm not too concerned with the initial cost & can be a bit bigger. Any additional thoughts are very welcome. I don't want to screw this up.(again)

Hi,
Thanks for all the advice. After reading & reading & reading then shopping & shopping & shopping, I've settled on the SuperMaxx. Can't beat (or I couldn't) the price of $58 for a starter set with $15 shipping. I'm trying to figure out what I'll need in the way of extra batteries & atomizers to last me for 3 to 6 mos. I was thinking of 2 starter sets or the equivilant + 3 (?) extra atomizers. I would then have 7 atomizers & 4 batteries. How does that seem? Any insight would be appreciated.

BTW I also consider the Little Chuck--not ready for that size-- & the Precise--not ready for that $$$$ especially with such a short time battery. Hope I selected wisely!

TIA
Doris

Hi Doris! Welcome back to ECF and vaping :)

I think you are referring to the Absolute MaxX from Absolutelyecigs. If so, then I think you've made a good choice!

The MaxX is Absolutelyecig's 510 super duper (long battery life compared to standard e-cig batteries) model along the same lines as the Joye eGo and Tornado, Eastmall's Riva and the Hello 016, all of which have had great reviews. I have the Riva and it's excellent...the battery has been lasting me around 10 hours! The MaxX is brand spaking new and just started shipping the last week or so I believe, so no reviews yet. It is also Absolutelyecig's first venture into the 510 model, as they are the original manufacturer of all things M401, etc.

With two starter kits and extra atomizers, you should be good to go for 3 to 6 mos. Of course, you know from experience that atomizers are usually the weak link. But good 510 attys are easily obained and at very reasonable cost from most ECF suppliers. You can also look at the low resistance (LR) attys that are very popular. Also, you might want to check into the 510 cartomizers...they are great as they hold about twice the amount of e-liquid, last for hours as compared to carts and are reasonably easy to refill.

Don't forget your e-liquid!

Hope this helps. And good luck this time around :toast:

I have an alternative suggestion. Before investing $58 or $116 (for two MaxX starter kits) + $15 shipping in a device that uses an atomizer you have never tried, why not test the water first?

You can get a full Joye 510 starter kit (with two complete e-cigs) for $33 ... or, for only $10, the Q-cig – a one-batt (auto), one-atty 510 clone. [The 510 is very popular, but it is not everyone's favorite. It's not mine.] If you do like the 510 atomizer, you can use those attys on your MaxX and you'll have one or two batteries as backup (and for use when you're in the mood for something small). [I don't always want to use my ProVape-1.]

Also, the MaxX is very new and pretty much untested. In fact, I've just read of some negative experiences with the T-Rex, a similar (identical?) model. The MaxX may be fantastic, but it's too soon to tell. Perhaps the Hello 016 or the Riva is the better way to go. I'm not sure. I don't think anyone is yet.

Vaping entails an ongoing expenditure, if only for e-liquid and replacement parts. You don't have to buy everything you think you will ever need all at once. And what "you think" you want today may (probably will) be different in a month or two.

I strongly urge you not to buy two MaxX starter kits. What if it is not all you hoped it would be? Or if your dream model comes out next week? Or, if you are like many of us, you want to use more than one model? I enjoy my penstyle, my 901, my Kr8, my 510, and my mods ... and use each every day.

Add a couple extra atomizers to your order, sure. But two batteries is sufficient for quite awhile. And, as CJsKee pointed out, save some of your money for e-liquid. As enamored with the hardware all of us get (me included:oops:), all it's good for is to vaporize the juice we put in it. Get a model that does the vaporizing effectively; then explore the myriad flavors (and suppliers' unique ways of concocting them).
