Think I'm going to give up trying with these types of cartos. I thought that they would work better in a punched carto, because they would get continual juice feed at the bottom, but I either burn them or get a bad taste from them. I've tried two different brands and they're just not working for me the way that I thought they would. Heat production is out of this world, but I need a good taste on them. I know that other people are getting superb results from them, so if you have any tips I would appreciate hearing about them. The closest description that I can describe to the bad taste is something bitter like tree sap. I think I'll stick with boge and smoktech cartos for now though.

I punch two holes in all of my cartos; one near the bottom and one near the top for airflow. I filled the cartos first (dripping from the top) until liquid started to run out of the bottom hole. Then I put the carto in my tank, put a wee bit more liquid into the carto for the "slushie" look. Took some dry vapes and then powered up and vaped. If a lot of other people are getting a good vape off of the horizontal coils and I'm not, then I must be doing something that is not right and I can't think of what else I need to do.

**Edit**
I punch a larger hole in the bottom for vg liquid and a small one near the top. Perhaps the horizontals don't do well with 100% vg?

i'm relatively new to this but i use horizontal coil carts and they tell me that icky taste is from letting them go dry and trying to puff

remedy: you can put rubbing alcohol or vinegar, some say

i just plop em in boiling water and stir for a couple minutes, let em dry real good overnight (i stand em so the fill side is down on paper towel) and by morning they're dry and no sign or smell of that awful burnt taste. hope that helps :D

I did try a few of the Kanger SR horizontal's unpunched & punched in a tank. Gotta say, as for a carto - they have simply the best taste & wicked well. The downside was they only lasted a couple of days & the taste became muted.

This is the same issue I had. I also find they go dry really quickly and I'm filling them more often than a regular carto.
