Recently I was hospitalized in the Cleveland Clinic for laproscopic abdominal surgery and was pleased to discover that the hospital allows vaping in the rooms, with your dr's permission.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that the first few days post op my last thought was about e-cigs, but it was nice to take a few hits when I was ready---more interested in hitting my pain pump, lol.

My surgeon was pleased as punch about my quitting using the e-cig,said I would never get cancer from the nicotine, and as far as she was concerned I could take my e-cig into surgery.

Long story short, I had a very positive experience at Cleveland Clinic, I am ten days post op, and I am offically considered cancer free...

I'll never forget those words, "cancer free", nine months after my bride's emergency surgery for an hemorrhaging cancerous brain tumor and her chemo/radiation treatment five years ago!

CCF has a strict policy against smoking anywhere on their property, even outside.
They also test all perspective employees for nicotine and if you test positive they will not hire you.
But a nurse told me last month that some patient are allowed to vape because of doctors orders.
I wouldn't rock the boat by flaunting it, but I hope it catches on.

tobarger, I KNOW how strict they are, so I didn't ever whip out my pv on campus, only in my room with my roomie's ok. As a funny aside, I developed post surgical pneumonia because I don't cough anymore, but it was cleared up quickly. When I told my 83 yr old neighbor and asked it she got it since she just had gall bladder surgery, she snapped "No, I coughed because I still smoke so I cleared my lungs out." LOL!!!

I'm glad your surgery went well! It is really cool to hear that a hospital was on board with vaping especially since they've become extremely strict on analog rules.
