So my wife just delivered a baby girl, our first! Very nice hospital but super anti tobacco. Ecf is banned on their wifi even for tobacco lol...idk. Easy enough to stealth at least. On 1ml after 2 days though, sometimes I feel a little edgy. So much easier to deal with a few hours of no vaping than the evil smokey. I sent an email to the admin asking them to unban ecf but I feel I might as well pound sand. Anyways...

4 days of labor!!! Wife is a trooper. Lillian Margaret is the name. 9lbs 2oz

As with all hospitals that I am aware of, my hospital employer has a tobacco ban for the entire campus. I'm not sure how e-cigs fit in with this restriction, but I stealth vape just the same.

I happened to see a patient in the pre-op area vaping on a cigalike. The next day I asked the head nurse of the department if this was allowed. She didn't have a clue what an e-cig was, and after I gave a short explanation, she said she would ask her supervisors if there was a policy for their use.

She got back with me a few days later and said the administrators had decided not to allow them because there have been no scientific studies on their effectiveness or safety.

Now having said that, I've read here on the forums of a very forward-minded hospital that hands out free disposable e-cigs to smokers while on the hospital grounds to help encourage them to stop smoking.

Congratulations....!

The hospital I work at in Oklahoma has a strict no tobacco policy as well, recently patients started using e-cigs and when admin caught on they updated the policy and included them in the tobacco policy. So they are not allowed on the campus officially but nobody really enforces it if they are in their room and nobody complains. Basically I tell them it's our little secret. As an employee I use mine in the break room when nobody is around or in the restroom. Several of us on my floor use them.
