So my wife just delivered a baby girl, our first! Very nice hospital but super anti tobacco. Ecf is banned on their wifi even for tobacco lol...idk. Easy enough to stealth at least. On 1ml after 2 days though, sometimes I feel a little edgy. So much easier to deal with a few hours of no vaping than the evil smokey. I sent an email to the admin asking them to unban ecf but I feel I might as well pound sand. Anyways...

4 days of labor!!! Wife is a trooper. Lillian Margaret is the name. 9lbs 2oz

Congrats.

My HMO's hospital is the same way. I've emailed them telling them they know nicotine is good for Ulcerative Colitis and if I'm ever in there for a stay they will just be using that policy to sell me over priced patches with jittery nicotine. And that after they make me go that long without the hand to mouth I will most likely bum a cigarette and start smoking on the ride home.
I even posted a link to a nursing school in their order that has their rule stating combusting tobacco is banned.
They don't care.

When I was there for the ER I vaped in their parking lot without a problem, everything is banned on their whole campus. For the colonoscopy I vaped in their parking deck without a problem.
One of the ER nurses was very happy and curious about vaping. My doctors are both happy, and even told me going back on nicotine might help.
It's just the ones trying to sell patches that aren't happy.

I did not tell them about stealth vaping. I doubt if it would have to be very stealthy as long as an administrator doesn't come by.

i lay on a bed in ER puffing away quite happily as the poor guy over the way looked like a mummy he had so many nicotine patches on him! "it's not tobacco and it's not combustion" was all the ER nurse needed to hear. My doc is cool with it too - and when i go there for the usual feed the vampires visits, i vape too. Doc is rather more pleased that i'm not smoking than what i use instead. Both places are totally anti-smoking ofc.

Congrats on the baby! Be nice to the wife - 4 days is a loooong time!

My normally very healthy 23-yr-old nephew was just in the hospital for 30 days until they figured out the cause and cure of a bizarre infection. Obviously, he was in a private room and the family took turns covering all waking hours. Because of the quarantine, the door was always closed and I vaped away in his room. I finally got "caught" by a nurse and she told me not to worry about it because it was not hurting him. According to her, there was no official hospital policy, but the administrators were still evaluating the pros and cons. Her opinion was that it was going to be approved.

Way to go Holmes Regional in Melbourne, FL!
