HOT atty and battery drain?

Hi all,
I recently bought a joye 510 starter kit and am quite satisfied. I am aware that the 510 has a short battery life, however, I am wondering if an overheating atty can cause the battery to drain quicker than normal. I had been vaping a juice that I've read can cause atties to give up the ghost and/or need cleanings on a more frequent basis. This one was getting super hot, uncomfortable to the touch, unlike my others. Cleaned the atty using hot water with a little improvement. However, even after the cleaning, the atty still ran warmer than my others and while using it, my battery only lasted 10-12 puffs before vapor production was vastly reduced. Am charging the battery now and am going to pitch the atty, I have plenty of backups. But I was wondering if the super hot atty was somehow connected to the sudden reduction in battery life-or did I just get a bum battery and have an atomizer dying at the same time? Any wisdom is greatly appreciated.

Brenn,

It is always a good idea to have a multimeter to check your atty's resistance.

I had 2 attys with the same behaviour as yours and sure enough when I check their resistance were 0.9-1.0 Ohm which cause the atty to run hot, burning juice like there are no tomorrow and battery to drain very fast.

Get a multimeter - they are pretty cheap and will eliminate your guess work!

Edit: I know it's weard but some attys may go down with resistance instead of going up. Great Scottbee has the same expirience as mine.
